    Busy in the Summer with tourists and travel.

    Needing a FP/ED physician to help support their Clinic/ED starting this Summer and continuous/ sporadic coverage over the next 6+ months

    This is a 24hr shift/ unique overlap between managing clinic patients and covering the ED.
    1400 ED visits per year
    Physician can expect to see maximum 6 clinic patients
    During the night, about 3-4 patients for ED.
    Estimated number of patients seen per 24 hr. shift at max is 16- likely less.

    Support staff is two APP's and at times another MD will be on staff.

    Common Visits - boating accidents/ hooks, sutures, GI, & Appys.
    Trauma cases will be transferred to Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD about 1 1/2 hours.

    Lodging and travel reimbursed
    Facility prefers physicians familiar with the rural communities.
    Housing provided - will not have to stay at hospital in the evening.
    Ideally would love Locum to offer coverage Monday- Friday but will take partial weeks and weekend coverage.

    60-90 credentialing - would like to have a Locums available to start picking up coverage mid-end of July. Read Less

    Highlights of this Locum opportunity in South Dakota:

    • Solo CRNA practice- 8 CRNA s when fully staffed- will need on-going coverage starting September for 6 months plus before their new CRNA starts in May 2026

    • Running 5 OR s, 1 Endo and 1 Cath Lath; one stand alone surgery center with 2 OR s that they cover as well for Cataracts, Peds, Podiatry, ENT and Dental.

    • Light Call 1:8 every days for weeknight call and every 8th weekend

    • Prefers provider with Regional Anesthesia experience but will train; also some blocks but not a ton about 1 block case per day.

    • Proficient in spinals and epidurals; approximately 600 births per year

    Types of cases: Cases primarily consist of bread and butter. General, OB/GYN, Ortho, Urology, GI, ENT, and Endo The CRNA needs to be ACLS, PALS and CPR certified.

    • $220- 230hr. with an 8 hour daily minimum M-F

    • OT over 8 hours a day $230hr paid to the nearest 15 minutes.

    • $400 to carry the pager not a lot of call; maybe 1 night every 2 weeks. Call back reimbursed at $230hr with a 2 hour min for each call back

    • Weekend call $1,800 for each 24 hour call period- this includes 2 hours of call backs/working hours Any hours worked after 2 hour in 24 hour shift will be paid at $230hr

    • $35 meal per diem for days worked

    • Reasonable hotel/lodging/mileage/rental reimbursed or stipend Read Less
