    Job DescriptionJob Description

Help Build the Financial Foundation for Community Transformation

Most finance roles focus on managing numbers. This one helps transform neighborhoods.

HOPE Community Development Corporation is a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to expanding homeownership, revitalizing neighborhoods, and creating economic opportunity throughout Wichita. Through affordable housing development, property rehabilitation, community partnerships, and financial empowerment initiatives, HOPE is investing in the long-term success of families and communities.

We're seeking a Director of Finance & Operations to become the financial and operational partner to Founder & CEO Dr. Kevass Harding. This person will help build the systems, discipline, and financial infrastructure necessary to support a growing organization managing approximately $10 million in community assets and a residential housing portfolio approaching 50 properties.

This is an opportunity to move beyond traditional accounting and become a key leader helping shape the future of a mission-driven organization.

    Why This Role Matters

Every home acquired, every family served, every funding opportunity secured, and every neighborhood investment made depends on strong financial stewardship and operational execution.

The Director of Finance & Operations will play a central role in helping HOPE:

    Expand affordable housing opportunities

    Strengthen financial sustainability

    Improve operational discipline and accountability

Maximize public and private funding opportunities

    Support community development initiatives

Build systems capable of supporting future growth

Your work will directly impact families, neighborhoods, and the future of Wichita's urban core.

What Success Looks Like During the First Year

The person hired will have the opportunity to create visible and measurable impact almost immediately.

Establish Accurate and Timely Financial Operations - Build confidence across the organization by ensuring accounting processes are maintained accurately, financial reporting is timely, and leadership has reliable visibility into organizational performance. Success means creating a financial foundation that leadership, partners, lenders, and the Board can trust.

Improve Cash Flow Planning and Financial Decision-Making - Develop forecasting and reporting systems that allow HOPE to proactively manage cash flow, prioritize investments, and make informed decisions. The goal is to move from reactive financial management to intentional financial stewardship.

Capture High-Value Financial Opportunities - Lead the tracking, documentation, and execution of critical initiatives including developer fee reimbursements, affordable housing utility connection refunds, and property tax exemption programs. Successful execution of these initiatives will directly increase resources available for future community investments.

Become a Trusted Partner to the Founder - Work closely with Dr. Harding to improve organizational execution, evaluate opportunities, support strategic initiatives, and build the infrastructure necessary for sustainable growth.

    Growth Opportunity

This role is designed to grow with the organization. The successful candidate will initially focus on financial leadership, operational execution, reporting, forecasting, compliance, and strategic project management. As HOPE continues to expand, there is a clear opportunity for this position to evolve into a future Chief Financial Officer role with broader organizational leadership responsibilities.

For the right person, this is not simply a job change—it is an opportunity to build toward executive leadership while helping shape the future of an organization making a meaningful difference in Wichita.

    Additional Leadership Exposure

In addition to overseeing financial operations, this individual will have the opportunity to:

Support fundraising initiatives and funding strategy

Assist with financial presentations and Board materials

Collaborate with lenders, donors, grant partners, and community stakeholders

Participate in strategic planning and organizational growth initiatives

Help evaluate future housing and community development opportunities

While these responsibilities will not be owned independently, they provide valuable exposure to nonprofit leadership, community development finance, and executive decision-making.

    Who Will Thrive Here

We're looking for someone who enjoys creating structure, solving problems, building systems, and helping organizations grow.

    You may currently be:

An Accounting Manager ready for broader leadership responsibility

A Controller in a small organization

An Assistant Controller seeking greater impact

A Senior Accountant looking for a leadership opportunity

    A nonprofit finance professional

    A church finance leader

A property accounting or real estate accounting professional

A CPA is not required. What matters most is your ability to build trust, maintain financial discipline, manage complexity, and execute consistently.

    Culture & Mission

HOPE operates from a faith-based foundation centered on serving people and strengthening communities.

Candidates do not need to share the organization's faith background, but they must genuinely respect, support, and feel comfortable working within a faith-based mission and culture.

This is an entrepreneurial environment where priorities evolve quickly, resources must be stewarded carefully, and team members often wear multiple hats. People who are proactive, resourceful, mission-driven, and accountable tend to thrive here.

Why This Could Be the Right Career Move

Many finance professionals spend their careers reporting on results. This role offers the opportunity to help create them.

You'll work directly alongside a visionary founder, influence organizational strategy, strengthen financial stewardship, support community development initiatives, and help build systems that will impact families and neighborhoods for years to come. If you're looking for a role that combines finance, leadership, operational influence, and meaningful purpose, we'd welcome a conversation.

    Job DescriptionJob Description

There's a difference between doing accounting work and using accounting to influence a business.

This opportunity is built for someone who enjoys digging into complexity, understanding how a business makes money, and helping leaders make better decisions through strong financial insight and operational partnership. Our client is seeking a Senior Accounting Analyst to support a sophisticated trade accounting and controllership environment tied to inventory, commodities, derivatives, and global operations.

This is a role for someone who likes solving problems, not just processing transactions.

You'll partner closely with accounting, finance, and operational teams to support critical month-end activities, analyze financial drivers, improve accounting processes, and help strengthen the systems and controls that support a growing global business. The environment is collaborative, analytical, and fast-moving... ideal for someone who enjoys balancing technical accounting with business partnership and continuous improvement.

This role provides the opportunity to become a trusted analytical resource who can connect financial details to business outcomes, identify opportunities for improvement, and help modernize accounting processes through technology and smarter workflows.

    What Makes This Opportunity Different

This role offers exposure to areas many accounting professionals rarely get access to, including:

Trade support accounting tied to inventory and derivative activity Cross-functional business partnership with finance and operations leaders Financial analysis connected to profitability, margin, working capital, and market drivers Finance transformation and process improvement initiatives Advanced reporting and analytical tools including Power BI, OneStream, Alteryx, and emerging AI-enabled technologies

The team is looking for someone who enjoys asking questions, learning how the business operates, and finding ways to improve processes rather than simply maintaining them.

    What You'll Be Doing

Support month-end and quarter-end close activities tied to complex business transactions and trade accounting Analyze financial results and operational data to identify trends, risks, and business insights Improve reconciliations, reporting processes, and accounting workflows to increase efficiency and scalability Partner with accounting and operational stakeholders to solve problems and strengthen financial visibility Support finance transformation initiatives, system enhancements, and automation efforts Help maintain strong internal controls and compliance with US GAAP and reporting requirements Leverage technology and data tools to improve reporting quality and decision support

    What They're Looking For

The ideal candidate will bring a strong accounting and analytical foundation combined with curiosity, ownership, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative business environment.

Most successful candidates will likely have:

Experience in accounting, finance, audit, trade support accounting, or related analytical finance roles Strong data analysis and reconciliation experience involving large or complex datasets Exposure to ERP systems and financial reporting tools A process improvement mindset with interest in automation and technology The ability to communicate clearly with both finance and non-finance stakeholders

Exposure to inventory accounting, derivative accounting, Power BI, OneStream, Alteryx, or finance transformation initiatives would be especially valuable, but the bigger differentiator is someone who enjoys learning, solving problems, and improving how work gets done.

Why Someone Would Make This Move

For the right person, this is a chance to step into a more dynamic and business-connected accounting role without needing to move immediately into people leadership. It offers the opportunity to work on more sophisticated financial problems, gain broader operational exposure, and build capabilities that position someone for larger finance, controllership, or strategic accounting opportunities over time.

This is the kind of role that appeals to accountants who want more influence, more business exposure, and more opportunity to grow, while still staying close to the technical and analytical work they genuinely enjoy.

    Compensation

Pay is expected to be in the $85,000–$105,000 base salary range, with final compensation determined by experience, accounting depth, analytical capability, systems exposure, and alignment with the role's trade accounting and business partnership responsibilities. Benefits package is very competitive and includes the ability to work hybrid remote two times a week, following completion of onboarding, with leadership approval.

    Candidate Eligibility Note

At this time, we are unable to consider candidates requiring visa sponsorship, either now or in the future.

A top US CPA and advisory firm is looking for a Healthcare Practice Leader to take an established platform and grow it into a $10M+ business over the next few years. You'll have the autonomy to build a high-growth healthcare practice while leveraging a platform that includes tax, advisory, wealth, trust, and technology services. Unlike firms that demand growth at the expense of culture, this organization is deeply committed to balance, flexibility, and long-term success for both clients and employees. With a clear path to partnership and access to an untapped pipeline of opportunities, this is an environment where a strong leader can significantly increase both impact and earnings without sacrificing quality of life.
