Experienced Optician Needed
Our private practice optometry office in Lincoln Park is looking to add to our team! Our optician will be responsible for the selling, fitting, and dispensing glasses and will initially be expected to answer phones, schedule patients, verify insurance, and other tasks that arise on a day-to-day basis. This will all be done while providing a great interpersonal experience for our patients! We are looking for a candidate that has experience in the field, exceptional communication skills, is flexible as the office grows, has the ability to multitask, and most of all the passion to be instrumental in helping to lay the foundation for our growing company.
Candidate requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalentAt least 3 years of experience in the optical fieldFamiliarity working with many vision plans including VSP, Eyemed, Spectera, and Davis Vision, etc.Great interpersonal and customer service skillsThe availability to work full time including SaturdaysThe passion to assist in other tasks that aid in office efficiency and growth of the practiceJob Responsibilities:
Ability to sell premium quality glasses and contact lensesSkilled in fitting, adjustment, and dispensing glassesTo be familiar with our optical inventory and products to provide the most appropriate selections for the patientA chance to learn to edge lenses with in-house optical equipmentAnswer phones to schedule patients and answer general questionsVerify insurances and interpret benefits from a large variety of medical and vision plansHave the willingness and flexibility to learn and adapt in a variety of situationsMust have the desire and investment in the practice to help with promotion and growthCompensation depends on experience and skill level.
