    Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are an applicant-side Workers' Compensation law firm with a niche focus on representing professional athletes.     We are currently seeking a highly-organized, personable Legal Assistant to join our team. This role combines three key responsibilities: Client Intake, Medical-Legal Scheduling, and Deposition Coordination. As a primary point of contact for both new and current clients, you will play a vital role in ensuring a seamless, timely, and professional experience.

    Primary Responsibilities: 

    Client Intake:Serve as one of the first points of contact for prospective clientsProvide and explain intake documents, assisting clients as needed to ensure forms are completed accurately and thoroughlyReview and process intake questionnaires and supporting documents for attorney reviewCreate client case files and enter complete, accurate information into the case managements systemMaintain ongoing communication with prospective clients and assist with onboarding new clientsFile Applications for Adjudication of claims with the WCAB and serve all appropriate partiesMedical Scheduling:Schedule medical-legal evolutions, including AQME, PQME, PTP, and STP appointmentsCoordinate with physician offices to confirm availability, send notice of appointments, and provide QME advocacy lettersTrack and calendar all medical-legal deadlines and appointment timelinesRequest panel QME lists as neededMonitor med-legal report due dates and assist with follow-up
    Deposition Coordination & Legal SupportSchedule and confirm depositions with clients, attorneys, and defense counselCalendar depositions, medical evaluations, hearings, and other critical deadlinesPrepare and coordinate deposition preparation materialsFile legal documents in EAMS (e.g. Applications, COAs, DORs, Liens)Organize and maintain client case filesServe medical-legal reports and other discovery materials to defense counselProvide administrative support to attorneys, paralegals, and the firm administratorMaintain confidentiality and uphold legal privacyQualifications:Experience in California Workers' Compensation (required)Strong written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlinesComfortable interacting with high-profile clients, including professional athletesExperience with EAMS and WCAB procedures (preferred)Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Dropbox, and case management systemsSelf-starter with a collaborative and proactive work stylePreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate (or equivalent work experience)1+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary in a Workers' Compensation settingInterest in or an appreciation for professional sports and athlete advocacyBenefits:Competitive salary based on experiencePerformance-based bonus opportunitiesPaid vacation and holidaysFlexible schedule and hybrid/remote options after training periodSupportive, mission-driven team work environmentHealth and dental insurance available401 (k) with employer contribution Read Less
