    Are you looking to start or advance your career in government contracting? We are Geodesicx and we are looking for Engineering Technicians to fill roles within the San Diego, CA and Mayport, FL areas of operation. We work with high-performing teams to facilitate constructing our nations fighting fleet and we are looking to grow with you.

    The Engineering Technician supports the development, fabrication, testing, installation, and maintenance of mechanical, structural, and electronic systems and components. Personnel in this series perform technical work of increasing complexity, supporting engineers and senior technicians in the assembly, inspection, modification, and repair of equipment and systems in accordance with technical drawings, specifications, and safety standards.

    Engineering Technicians may work in shop, laboratory, or shipboard environments, assisting in fabrication, wiring, soldering, cable routing, mechanical fitting, and related technical functions. Work assignments require adherence to established engineering and safety procedures and may involve the use of hand tools, measuring instruments, and light machinery. Higher-level technicians perform more complex technical operations, mentor junior staff, and may provide quality assurance oversight and technical documentation in support of project objectives.

    Skills and Abilities:

    Personnel qualifying for this position shall have manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, good physical fitness, a good sense of balance, and an ability to work as a member of a team Laborers must be capable of lifting and carrying objects weighing up to seventy (70) pounds and of spending up to eight (8) hours per day performing physical demanding workPersonnel qualifying for this position shall have five (5) years general experience in the mechanical/structural assemblyRepair and layout with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in mechanical and structural planning including shipboard mechanical and structural requirements related to electronics installations such as antenna supports, equipment foundations, bulkhead and hull penetrations of cables and waveguide Experience should include designing shipboard air conditioning, venting and cooling systems, conducting and following layout surveys, analyzing test results, preparing/reviewing and modifying schematics, and developing report(s) data/summariesPersonnel qualifying for this position shall be able to climb ladders and work in confined spacesPersonnel qualifying for this position shall have good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skillsPersonnel qualifying for this position shall have the ability to follow assembly drawings and instructions including Cable Running Sheets and to produce product that shows an excellent level of workmanship

    No prior experience required.Preferred Quals/CertsShipyard Competent Person Certification – may be obtained after hire; training provided prior to shipboard assignmentMan Aloft (Climber) Certification – preferred but not required; may be obtained after hire

    Education Requirements for Higher Levels: Formal, Informal, On-the-job-training

    At a minimum a High School Diploma or GED

    Personnel qualifying for higher starting positions shall have at least one of the following:

    Associate’s Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Structural Engineering Technology Completion of four (4) years of U.S. military service with one of the following technical ratings: Machinist Mate, Structural Mechanic, Machinery Repairman, or Steelworker Completion of a formal two year or more contractor apprenticeship in a related field that included at least six months of formal classroom training that addressed structural design and the fabrication of metal objects.Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification Man Aloft Certification (Climber Certification)

    Travel:

    Occasional travel may be required

    Clearance:

    Candidate must be eligible to hold a US security clearance at the level of SECRET or higher

    Geodesicx, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated GPS Test Engineer/Technician to support the United States Marine Corps at the Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity (MCTSSA) in Camp Pendleton, California.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and compliance of GPS systems used in various military applications. This role requires in-depth knowledge of GPS standards and proficiency in GPS compliance test software.


    Key Responsibilities:

    Conduct comprehensive testing and validation of GPS systems to ensure they meet all relevant standards and requirements.Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and scripts for GPS systems and USMC client systems.Utilize GPS compliance test software to evaluate performance, accuracy, and reliability.Analyze test results, identify issues, and work with engineering teams to implement solutions.Maintain detailed documentation of test procedures, results, and any corrective actions taken.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, and systems engineers, to ensure seamless integration and functionality of GPS systems.Stay up-to-date with the latest GPS standards, technologies, and industry best practices.Provide technical support and expertise to Marine Corps personnel regarding GPS systems and testing methodologies.Assist in the development and improvement of test methodologies and processes.


    Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.Minimum of 3 years of experience in GPS system testing and validation.Strong knowledge of GPS standards, including IS-GPS-153 Rev D and E, and other relevant standards (MSID-001A and NMEA-0183).Knowledge of MIL-STD-6017A and Variable Message Format (VMF) messaging.Proficiency in using GPS compliance test software (CTS-153).Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.


    Preferred Qualifications:

    Knowledge of Mounted Assured Positioning Navigation and Timing (PNT) System (MAPS) Generation (GEN) II (MAPS Gen II)/Mounted Assured Resilient Navigation (MARNAV) Block 1 (MARNAV Block 1)Knowledge of MAPS Maintenance Application (MMA) softwareExperience supporting military or defense-related projects.Familiarity with other navigation and positioning systems (e.g., GNSS, GLONASS, Galileo).Knowledge of RF signal processing and simulation.


    Work Environment:

    The position is based at MCTSSA, Camp Pendleton, California, with occasional travel to other testing sites or facilities as required.The work may involve working in a lab environment and field testing conditions.


    Physical Requirements:
