    Performs day-to-day activities of the housekeeping and maintenance department in accordance with current Federal, State, and Local standards, guidelines and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator and/or supervisor. Responsible for facility maintenance to ensure a clean, safe and comfortable environment.

    GENERAL DUTIES

    Performs a variety of general housekeeping/cleaning duties in various areas to maintain the center in a sanitary, safe, attractive, and orderly condition.Receives assignments from supervisor and follows cleaning schedule as outlined for housekeeping department to clean offices, handicap and visitor’s restrooms, activity room, kitchen restroom, service entrance and therapy room, entrances and exits, utility areas, closets, lounges, lobbies, halls, etc.; Performs emergency housekeepingCooperates with other facility personnel to ensure that services can be adequately maintained to meet the needs of residents; creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment.Adheres to established employee policies.Adheres to established dress code.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Highschool diploma or equivalency preferred.One year’s work experience in a commercial establishment with knowledge of laundry/housekeeping procedures

    As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) you are responsible for staff assignment and provide overall supervision of resident care in accordance with established policies and procedures and as may be directed by the RN Supervisor, Director of Nurses or Administrator, to assure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or an approved Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program with a current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure in the state in which practicing.Possess leadership ability and the willingness to work with and supervise professional and nonprofessional personnel.Ability to Read, write and speak the English language.

    GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

     CLINICAL

    Complete all Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) required record keeping forms/charts upon the resident’s admission, discharge, transfer, etc. File in the resident’s chart and/or forward to the appropriate department.Prepare/administer medications as ordered by the physician.Admit, transfer and discharge resident. Assist in arranging transportation and packing as necessary.Administer professional services such as: catheterization, tube feeding, suction, applying and changing dressings/bandages, packs, colostomy and drainage bags, taking blood, sputum, and urine specimens, care of the dead/dying, etc., as established by the facility’s policies and procedures.Tracheostomy care, ventilator care experienced.

    SUPERVISION

    As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) you will work with the facility’s consultants as necessary and implement recommended changes as directed by the RN Supervisor of the Director of Nurses.Investigate complaints and grievances and make necessary oral/written reports to the RN Supervisor or Director of Nurses.Give/receive nursing reports upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours.Check all residents daily to assure that prescribed treatment is being properly administered by nursing personnel/assistants and to evaluate their physical and emotional status. Keep the RN Supervisor informed about the status of residents, staff and related matters.

    Conducts resident screens (without interpretation) as allowed by state practice act.

    Helps residents with rehabilitative activities and exercises outlined in a treatment plan developed in collaboration with an occupational therapist.

    Monitors an individual’s activities to make sure they are performed correctly and to provide encouragement.

    Records resident’s progress for use by the occupational therapist

    May assist in scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, restocking or ordering depleted supplies, and filling out insurance forms or other paperwork.

    Provides training to residents, caregivers and families according to the resident’s care plan.

    Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.

     

    OTA ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS

    Associates Degree from a AOTA accredited program

    Licensed COTA if required by state law

     

    OTA OTHER REQUIREMENTS

    Participates in (or conducts) company-sponsored training to safeguard against improper use and disclosure of resident’s protected health information. 

    Monitors and ensures compliance with company policies, procedures and state and federal law.
