    GD Resources is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, implement, and maintain real-time embedded software solutions for defense systems.

    Education:

    Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.

    Qualifications:

    Preferred certifications: Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP), Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP), or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM).

    Experience:

    8 years of software engineering experience on systems similar to LCAC C4N.

    Experience designing and implementing real-time embedded software-intensive solutions.

    Skilled in software testing, debugging, runtime profiling, and error analysis.

    Experience integrating software units and components to produce fully integrated systems.

    Proficient in programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.

    Mandate (NYS S811-A518-MENA Chapter Amendment). The MENA Bill requires agencies that collect demographic data to now include Middle Eastern and North African categories as
    mandated by Section S6584C/A6219B of the State Executive Law beginning July 1, 2026. This will be funded with SPID 7634.
    QualificationsProgrammer- Creates computer software. May specialize in one area of computer software or may write code for many kinds of software.                        Expert- 84+ Months: Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.84 months experience coding and designing COBOL programming language84 months experience coding and designing Easytrieve programming language84 months experience coding and designing Job Control Language (JCL).84 months experience in IBM mainframe SQL48 months experience creating and updating flow diagrams.                                 Day-to-Day tasks       Work will be performed on an IBM Mainframe using IBM Enterprise COBOL, Easytrieve, CICS, DB2, SQL and JCL.  The environment consists of both batch and online systems.Creating new programs, performing maintenance on existing programs, creating ad hoc reports, and creating and updating documentation. Work on Cobol 6.4 conversion assignments.This will allow the SME’s to work on MENA.

    Position Overview
    This role supports the New York HBITS initiative by building and maintaining enterprise web applications for financial/reporting systems. You’ll design solutions using .NET (C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET/MVC), Angular, Oracle PL/SQL, and Crystal Reports to deliver secure, reliable features. Success requires strong front-end skills (HTML/JS/CSS/Bootstrap), back-end integration, and experience translating business requirements into robust code.
     
    ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop solutions for CFRS and other OMH applications using MVC, .NET, JavaScript, AJAX, HTML, XML, Web APIs, and WCF.Build and maintain Oracle assets (tables, indexes, constraints, views); write PL/SQL procedures/packages; handle data conversion/migration.Create and support Crystal Reports; diagnose report logic (rules, calculations, data).Manage PHI data carefully; follow HIPAA and security practices.Participate across the SDLC: analysis, development, testing, UAT, and production support.Use TFS/GitLab for source control, branching, and versioning.Troubleshoot production issues via ITSM; join bridge calls and escalate when needed.Mentor state and consultant developers on debugging, deployment, security, data access, and architecture.
