    Position Summary

    The Fiber Splicer is responsible for performing fiber optic splicing, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fiber optic networks. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while supporting team objectives and project timelines.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Splice and terminate fiber optic cables in accordance with industry standards and company specificationsPerform fiber optic testing using equipment such as fusion splicers, OTDRs, and power metersTroubleshoot fiber network issues and implement effective corrective actionsComplete and maintain accurate splice documentation, as-built drawings, and related recordsEnsure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policiesMaintain, inspect, and care for all assigned tools and equipmentSupport team members and project leadership as neededParticipate in on-call dispatch rotations for maintenance and repair work, as requiredPerform other duties as assigned by leadership

    Education and Experience Requirements

    High school diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum of two (2) years of experience in fiber optic splicing and network maintenanceExperience using fusion splicers, OTDRs, and power metersFiber splicing certification requiredKnowledge of applicable industry standards and regulationsStrong attention to detailEffective communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamWillingness to work overtime and travel as business needs require

    Licenses and Certifications

    Valid Driver’s License requiredDOT Medical Card requiredCDL Class A or Class B preferredOSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications preferred

    Physical and Work Environment Requirements

    Ability to lift and carry up to 50 poundsAbility to stand, walk, sit, crouch, and perform physical tasks for extended periodsAbility to communicate clearly in person and by telephoneWork is performed indoors and outdoors in all weather conditionsWork may occur on rugged terrain and active construction job sites
