    This role involves travel throughout the Columbia region and other parts of Missouri. Overnight travel required.

    Position Summary/Purpose:

    Performs capital improvement projects to include carpentry, plumbing, electrical related to major renovations or rehabs.

    Essential Functions:

    1. Performs capital improvement projects to include rough and trim carpentry, plumbing, drywall repair and finishing, electrical, masonry, painting and janitorial related to major renovations and rehabs – Advanced.

    2. Possess reliable transportation and be able to drive to company-owned locations as needed.

    able to drive to pick up supplies or others to complete business need.

    3. Travel Monday-Friday approximately 75% of the time. Home on the weekends.

    4. Follows safe work practices.

    5. Travels to, and participate in, both regional and corporate training and/or conferences as required.

    Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    Knowledge of building trades Ability to work independently and adhere to set deadlines.Ability to read and interpret drawings, sketches, instructions and specifications.Proven operation of equipment and tools needed for the role; Must have own hand and power tools. Must Have Current Driver’s License, Vehicle, and Insurance.Must Pass Background Check and Periodic Drug Testing.Must Be Willing to Travel and Stay Overnight.

    Job Summary:

    The FWM Controller applies the principles of accounting in analyzing financial information for the Fairway Management portfolio and related entities. The Controller oversees the accounting and accounts payable teams, ensures the timely financial reporting required by internal/external customers and legal mandates, ensures effective communication between all stakeholders, internal or external.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    Facilitate financial reporting process with assistance from Accounting ManagerWork with Accounting Manager to assist Property Accounting team the preparation of monthly financials for their portfolioReview financial reports for both property and corporate entities and communicate findings with company/department leadersSupervise the maintenance of the fixed asset tracking depreciation for managed propertiesPartner with Operational teams in reviewing and analyzing financial dataProvide department leaders with data and suggestions for decision makingOversee Accounting and Accounts Payable teams, including property accountants, corporate accountant, accounts payable, and treasury management.Directly supervise 4 team members with differing focusOversight of personnel matters for direct reports including but not limited to onboarding, training, offboarding, hiring, performance management, etcAssist Accounting Manager and Accounts Payable Manager with personnel matters for their respective teamsCollaborate with teams to create standard operating procedures to normalize tasks and processesOrganize and facilitate the process for FWM budgets (corporate and property) and work with department leaders for their respective inputsSupervise and track the assimilation of information for outside tax preparers and auditorsReview tax returns and audit reportsAssist the VP of Accounting and President with projects as neededAll of these duties typically performed under the direction of the VP of Accounting

    Required Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience consisting of education and experienceMinimum of 5 years work experience in an accounting environment. Minimum of 1 year public accounting experience preferredExperience in the preparation of financial statementsAdvanced knowledge of accounting practicesAnalytical ability to compile relevant data into useful informationPrior supervisory/management experience requiredComputer and Microsoft Office Suite skills (specifically advanced skill in Excel)RealPage software experience preferredStrong customer service skills to meet the needs of internal and external customersAdvanced ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressureStrong team management skills
