THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN OUR WARRENVILLE, ILLINOIS OFFICE.Position Overview:Instrument and Controls (PE-IC) is responsible for controls design and instrumentation application associated with FTI projects. The candidate will be knowledgeable of PLC and DCS technology platforms and their applications, and have the ability to generate or review and approve project documentation such as functional descriptions, panel layout drawings, logic drawings, controls lists (BOM, I/O, Alarm and Setpoint Lists) as well as complete Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) in vendor locations or in the commissioning phase of projects in the field. Position Overview This is a technical individual contributor role within the Process Engineering department and recognized for its expertise within the organization. May use sophisticated computer tools and scientific methods to assist with analyses. Properly documents the technical basis for the analysis and prepares comprehensive reports or white papers that clearly communicate the results. Primary ResponsibilitiesProvides process design and technical support for Fuel Tech products including Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction (SNCR), Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR), and water treatment technology.Uses Computation Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Flow Modeling to optimize and confirm designs. Gathers and analyzes data, formulates a resolution plan and executes the plan to produce the desired outcome; seeks technical support of peers and industry experts as required. Position OverviewA professional-level field engineering role that works independently and requires a solid knowledge of engineering, and power generation work practices. The Field Engineer is responsible for field engineering activities of assigned projects, including solving problems, understanding detailed design, project documentation and the actions needed to successfully installation, start-up, commission, troubleshooting of equipment at the project site and field close-out of projects for one or more clients.
