    Job Title: Quality Assurance Manager & Food Safety Manager

    Status: Full Time

    Salary: Exempt

    Position Summary: Freshline Produce LLC., The Quality Assurance and Food Safety (QAFS) Manager is responsible for overseeing and maintaining all QAFS policies and procedures. The QAFS Manager provides leadership, support, and guidance directly to their team and indirectly and directly to other plant personnel to ensure; food quality standards, food safety guidelines, legal requirements (as they pertain to food safety) and customer expectations are met. The QAFS Manager reports directly to the Operations Manager. He/she will assure consistent quality of production by developing and enforcing good automated manufacturing practice (GMP) systems, validating processes, providing documentation, and managing staff.

    Responsibilities:

    Incoming Raw Materials/ Inspection/ Inform QA Manager and Operations Manager if there are quality issues. Fill out Receiving LogInspect incoming green beans and fill out and share the Green Bean Inspection ReportFirst in First Out (FIFO) inventory managementIdentify, label, date, and make a daily inventory list of all WIP products in the coolersProduction Line Quality Checks including product quality, case quality, Tsunami checks, Metal detector check and room temperature checksFill out Non-conforming form for products not in specificationPut Non-conforming products on HoldMaintain Hold release logServe as member HACCP TeamTrain employeesKeeps up to date with relevant international, federal, state and local regulationsEnsure all current certification requirements are met as well as the addition and/or compliance of any new required certificationMaintains the Quality Management Food Safety (QMFS) systemEnsures the food quality and safety procedures outlined in the QMFS are communicated to all necessary personnel and correctly implementedReviews and approves monitoring activities to ensure food safety parameters are metHolds and tracks non-conforming productAuthorizes product release as it pertains to food safetyCommunicates all Hold and Release activity to relevant departmentAnalyzes activities outlined in the QMFS for completion, efficacy, and efficiencyTracks completion of corrective action and verifies preventative actionsIssues corrective actions for the incorrect or ineffective implementation of the QMFS system Identifies improvement opportunities for the QMFSWorks with senior management on the development and revision of policies and procedures as they pertain to food quality and safetyCompletes responsibilities outlined in the QMFS which include, but are not limited to:Scheduling calibrations and maintaining recordsEnsuring the completion of employee training activities designed to keep employees knowledgeable, informed, and in compliance with food quality and safety standards and procedures relevant to their job function -Responsible for ensuring effectiveness of trainings providedObtains compliance documents from suppliers and vendorsUpdating and tracking all QMFS document changesMock RecallsInternal audits Directs and schedules customer, 3rd party, and regulatory auditsCompletes audit checklist and is responsible for the completion of any corrective actions issuedInteracts with regulatory personnel, food safety auditors, and customers to maintain positive and responsive relationships and ensure rapid corrective actions through dynamic leadership and timely documentationInvestigates customer complaints using root cause analysis and works with department managers to determine what corrective and preventative actions are necessaryResponds to complaints in the required timeframePrepares a monthly written report for management recapping food safety and quality issues, trends, corrective actions, and preventive measures taken.Leads annual management review- any changes made and verifies their compliance with food safety and quality standards.Completes customer compliance documentationCommunicates document and specification updates to all relevant departmentsReviews and approves lab testing chargesReviews environmental resultsOrders lab supplies and additional items as necessaryRelays audit schedule to necessary personnelPerform miscellaneous job-related duties as assignedResponsible for the day to day management of the Quality Assurance team including training and development of QA staff and clear identification of objectives to meet the company needs. May assist other managers in supervisory responsibilities as necessary

    Requirements:
