    This position is responsible for assisting clinicians and nursing staff in providing medical care. This position utilizes knowledge, judgment, and skills to provide an excellent patient experience.

    Tanana Valley Clinic (TVC) has provided state-of-the-art medical services to the Fairbanks Community and Interior Alaska for over 50 years. TVC is a 60-provider multi-specialty group.     Responsibilities Prepares patient for exam and treatment by taking and recording vital signs, symptoms, and other necessary measurements and recording chief compliant. Documents pain scores as appropriate. Reports condition of patient which may be indicative of change in the patient's condition, to the clinician. Assists providers with exams and minor in-office procedures. Acts as chaperon as needed. Uses universal blood and body fluid precautions at all times and personal protective equipment as needed. Prioritizes patient flow through the clinical process. Acts as a resource to clinician to provide optimal patient care. Provides clerical support with patient/client notifications and documentation, which includes completing medical records, labs, authorizations, X-Rays, hospital records, and any previous care pertaining to each patient visit. Provides complete and accurate information, necessary for billing related to the patient encounter in a timely fashion. Schedules and re-schedules patients as necessary. Confirms patient's appointments for the following days and informs patients of physician's orders or special instructions prior to appointment or procedure. Maintains a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exam rooms, and storage areas. Disinfects equipment and instruments using appropriate solutions following sterilization procedures. Follows manufacturer's recommendations and OSHA guidelines in handling of hazardous substances. Performs basic maintenance of equipment and coordinates needed maintenance for prompt repairs. Orders supplies and stocks patient care areas. Monitors inventory including medication/injectables and immunizations (e.g. expired medications/equipment and recalls). Develops and maintains an effective communication mechanism with all external and internal customers. Exemplifies service orientation and behaviors in all contacts.

    Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Foundation Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.

    Qualifications

    High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Requires knowledge normally obtained through a medical terminology course. Must be willing to complete medical terminology course within the first six (6) months of hire if not previously completed.



    Must possess excellent organizational skills as well as effective human relations and communication skills. Working knowledge of medical terminology, computer literacy and keyboarding skills are required.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    Certified Nursing Assistant experience preferred.

    Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

    Responsibilities Participates in hiring, orientation, precepting, training, and performance reviews. Monitors continued education of staff. Act as a Liaison to patients, staff, vendors, and various departments to coordinate care. Collaborates with the Department Manager to resolve staff concerns (i.e. payroll, scheduling, meetings, and conflict resolution) Assists in developing, modifying, and implementing departmental programs, such as goals and objectives, processes, policies, and procedures. Performs patient care and assesses work progress of staff, modifies work assignments, and determines types of services required to optimize patient outcomes. Performs chart audits and assists the department with charge capture. Monitor the quality of respiratory therapy services provided to patients, ensuring adherence to established protocols and standards. Ensures adequate resources are available for the department. Requisition supplies and equipment as needed.

    Qualifications Must possess a strong knowledge of respiratory care, typically obtained through an associate's degree in respiratory therapy. In-depth knowledge of clinical techniques, applications, and equipment as typically obtained through 2 years of clinical experience. Proof of passing the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications are required. In-depth knowledge of clinical techniques, applications, and equipment as typically obtained through three years of clinical experience. Willingness to work on day/night shifts as needed. Preferred Qualifications Additional related education and/or experience preferred. one year of supervisory experience or one year of progressive leadership experience is preferred.

    Qualifications

    Associate's or technical degree

    Proof of having passed the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist

    (RRT) or Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist. A current license in state practiced as required by state law. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required. In Home Care setting, must possess valid driver license and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.

    In-depth knowledge of clinical techniques, applications and equipment as typically obtained through 3 years of clinical experience and 1 year of supervisory experience. Must possess highly effective human relation skills necessary to interface with patients, families, staff and other healthcare personnel.

    Responsibilities

    Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of patient test results. Maintain records demonstrating that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens. Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies and document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance performed. Follow the laboratory's established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable performance levels. Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results, and either must correct the problems or immediately notify the Lead, Supervisor, or Director Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications. Maintains current knowledge and skills applicable to job assignments through continuing education or professional organizations. Recognize and provide input for opportunities for improvements in financial performance. Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards.     Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science or medical technology from an accredited institution. MLS/ASCP certification or equivalent such as ASCP, AMT, HEW, or AAB. If there is no current U.S. certification, it must be obtained within one year. Individuals with specialty certification may only work in the discipline of their specialty. Students may be hired at the job title equivalent to their future certification under the following conditions: The student is enrolled in a clinically recognized program (MLS), the Student's Clinical rotation in the core area must be completed before working in that core area, and the student must complete the program and pass the certification test within one year of hire. Demonstrates excellent problem-solving skills and a high level of self-motivation. Communicates effectively in oral and written formats sufficient to demonstrate comprehension. Use of mathematics, the performance of detailed work, working with frequent interruptions, multi-tasking, problem-solving, and memorization; ability to take direction and assimilate instructions quickly.     Responsibilities

    Organizes and performs or supports patient testing and facilitates overall efficient function of the entire lab. Ensures quality results through the collection and analysis of appropriate samples, use and evaluation of control materials, testing consistent with state licensure requirements, and proper instrument maintenance. Recognizes abnormal results or unusual circumstances and takes appropriate actions. Utilizes available resources to maintain and fix instruments or problem solve issues in collaboration with the Medical Technologist. Maintains current knowledge and skills applicable to job assignment through continuing education or professional organizations. Demonstrates knowledge of all automated systems used in the department and can perform basic troubleshooting of system problems. Demonstrates competence and complies with pertinent accrediting agency and regulatory requirements. Orders and maintains inventory of testing supplies in designated area. Recognizes and provides input for opportunities for improvements in financial performance. May be required to perform basic phlebotomy. May hire, train, conduct performance reviews, and direct the workflow for the department staff. Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards.     Qualifications

    High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Successfully completed an official military medical laboratory procedures course of at least 50 weeks duration and have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician) OR a student in a recognized MLT program who has completed a clinical rotation in the area of hire and will receive MLT (ASCP or equivalent) certification within one year from completion of the program. MLT/ASCP certification or equivalent. (Equivalent is defined as ASCP, AMT, HEW, AAB.)

    Demonstrates highly developed interpersonal skills and is proficient in basic computer skills. Demonstrates excellent problem solving skills, and high level of self-motivation. Use of mathematics, perform detailed work; work with frequent interruptions, multi-task, problem solve and memorization, Ability to take direction and assimilate instructions quickly.

    Responsibilities

    Performs specimen collection and patient preparation, ensuring correct patient and specimen identification and specimen integrity by using appropriate techniques as required. May perform assigned patient testing. May perform collections for drug and alcohol screening, following chain of custody protocols. May transport patient specimens and/or patients, per guidelines. Aliquots and labels specimens according to established departmental procedures and practices, delivers specimens to the technical area in a timely manner and / or performs initial processing and preparation of samples for transport. Performs registration processes including collecting insurance information, verifying coverage of Advanced Beneficiary Notices, obtain authorizations and signatures. Verifies patient demographics, insurance, and diagnostic test information, and accurately enters data into appropriate systems to ensure accurate documentation and billing. Focuses on quality by assuring that all work performed is accurate and complete. Initiates computer generated reports as required for patient reporting and quality assurance monitoring. Completes documents and records legibly and accurately per site protocol. Maintains familiarity with departmental procedures. Uses appropriate documentation to record communications. Communicates with physicians, clinical and hospital staff, nursing and Health Information Management Services to resolve outstanding issues and/or patient concerns. Acts as a liaison between the patient and lab charge services department to resolve outstanding issues, patient concerns, and maximize service excellence. Maintains laboratory equipment. Maintains clean, safe work environment and makes appropriate reagents/bleach. Performs other technical support functions as determined by the department. Trouble shoots routine problems within their area of responsibility. Assists with inventory management and ordering of supplies. Recognizes and provides input towards opportunities for improvements in work practices, and processes. Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Foundation Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.

    Qualifications High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Phlebotomy certification is required upon hire. BLS certification is required. Must be able to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats. May be required to possess a valid driver's license and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.     Qualifications

    Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited university program. Current licensure in the state of practice. Certificate of Clinical Competence or documented acceptance in

    Clinical Fellowship Year. BLS certification required.

    Requires the ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare providers. Must have strong interpersonal communications and human relation skills. Foundation Registry and Travel positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting and experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Speech Pathologist in the specialty area.

    Must have the ability to become proficient with computer software applications commonly used in an automated patient care environment.
