    Buyer – Job Posting

    Location: Rochester Hills, MI

    Reports To: General Manager

    About the Role

    We’re seeking a Buyer to manage sourcing and procurement for production and project‐related materials. You’ll work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to secure the right suppliers, negotiate competitive pricing, and ensure timely, high‐quality delivery.

    What You’ll Do

    Source and negotiate materials, components, and services for production needsPrepare RFQs, analyze bids, and recommend suppliersIssue purchase orders and manage returns, cancellations, and recovery costsMonitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with IATF 16949:2016Support continuous improvement in cost, quality, and delivery

    What You Bring

    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience2+ years of purchasing experience in tubing fabrication or similar manufacturingStrong negotiation, cost analysis, and supplier management skillsAbility to read prints/specifications and understand basic manufacturing processesProficiency in MS Office, especially Excel

    Job Title:        Production Manager

     

    Reports to:      General Manager

     

    Position Summary

    The Production Manager leads all manufacturing operations for our small‐diameter tubing assembly operation, with a strong focus on high‐mix/low‐volume production. This role requires a decisive, adaptable leader who excels at developing people, solving problems, and driving continuous improvement in a dynamic, fast‐changing environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Lead daily HMLV operations to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost targetsDrive a safety‐first culture with proactive hazard prevention to ensure that we meet local, state, and federal health & safety requirements/guidelines to provide a safe and productive working environment for our employeesSolve production issues quickly using structured analysis and cross‐functional teamworkManage frequent changeovers and ensure teams execute them efficientlyOptimize production flow across multiple product families and routing pathsDevelop a cross‐trained workforce to maintain flexibility and reduce bottlenecksOversee scheduling & capacity planning to support short lead times and variable demandUtilize ERP system to issue and track work orders, prioritize production schedules to meet due dates, process WIP transactions at each manufacturing stage, verify material consumption and labor charges, and ensure accurate reporting of shop floor employee time and production activityEnsure equipment reliability through preventive maintenance and downtime reductionLead Lean & CI initiatives including 5S, PFEP, and standard workSupport APQP and new product introduction in a high‐variety environmentEvaluate capital equipment needs to improve flexibility and throughputStrengthen systems & procedures for consistency across product variations

    Preferred Skills & Experience

    Leadership experience in HMLV or precision‐component manufacturingTechnical knowledge of tubing fabrication including bending, forming, cutting, and assemblyFamiliarity with fabrication equipment such as CNC benders, end‐formers, and weldersStrong analytical and problem‐solving skillsLean & 5S experience tailored to HMLV environmentsERP/MRP proficiency with dynamic scheduling

    Education & Experience Requirements

    Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field

    ·         Minimum of 3 yrs leading a tubing, or HMLV manufacturing operation in a management role
