    An Incoming Quality Engineer (IQE) is responsible for ensuring that all raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies received from suppliers meet the company’s quality standards and technical specifications before they enter the production process.

    Responsible for inspecting incoming parts from assigned batches.Responsible for the verification/calibration, spot inspection and daily maintenance of the inspection equipment according to the SOP.Strictly implement the laboratory safety operation and management system, responsible for the daily management and maintenance of laboratory 5S
    Organize and upload test results timelyManage the non-conformance including quarantine, leading MRB review, coordinating sorting/rework/return

    This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $86,600-$144,900.

    In this position... 
    The Incoming Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is the primary technical interface between the BOBM Battery Pack Assembly plant and its supply base. This role is responsible for ensuring that all incoming components meet stringent Ford Engineering Specifications (ES) and print requirements. The SQE leads the investigation into supplier-related production disruptions, manages immediate containment and chargebacks, and drives suppliers toward robust 8D closure to protect the plant’s First Time Through (FTT) and customer quality.
     

    What you'll do...

    1. Supplier Issue Management & Containment
    Production Protection: Lead investigations into supplier parts impacting production areas; execute immediate containment of suspect material.
    Corrective Actions: Establish Permanent Corrective Actions (PCAs) and strictly track implementation timing.
    8D Leadership: Lead supplier teams through the 8D process, ensuring root cause identification and closure to prevent recurrence.
    Sorting Oversight: Manage and provide oversight for all on-site or third-party supplier sorting activities.
    Financial Accountability: Initiate and manage supplier chargebacks (NORs) when applicable for non-conforming material and labor.

    2. Tracking, Reporting & Communication
    Tracklite Management: Distribute weekly Battery Pack Issue tracking notifications to each supplier via Tracklite.
    Meeting Cadence: Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams on prolonged supplier issues through established meeting cadences.
    Real-Time Feedback: Provide immediate quality issue feedback to base departments and plant leadership.
    TDM Standards: Attend and contribute to all Daily, Weekly, and Bi-Weekly team meetings per Time and Data Management (TDM) Standards.

    3. Launch, Audit & Compliance
    Launch Support: Lead and support launch activities for new battery programs, ensuring supplier readiness and PPAP compliance.
    Auditing: Support all internal and external audits, including ISO 9001/IATF 16949 and "Fresh Eyes" reviews.
    PD Escalation: Identify and escalate design or system-level issues to Product Development (PD) when parts meet print/ES but fail to function in the assembly.
    Corporate Standards: Adhere to all Corporate Standards, ensuring timing, budget, and FTT capability targets are met.

    4. Continuous Improvement & Governance
    Six Sigma: Deliver a minimum of two (2) Six Sigma projects per year focused on cost reduction or quality improvement.
    Review Teams: Drive issue resolution as a key member of the weekly Product Review Team (PRT) and the monthly Plant Quality Review (PQR).
    Proactive Quality: Assist in supplier quality investigations and drive process/standard adherence across the supply chain.

    In this position... 
    The Customer Quality Engineer (CQE) is the primary advocate for the customer within the BOBM Battery Pack Assembly plant. This role leads the Problem Resolving Team (PRT) in identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex quality issues that reach Vehicle Operations (VO) or the field (Warranty). The CQE bridges the gap between manufacturing, design, and suppliers to ensure that every battery pack meets the highest standards of safety and performance, driving a "Zero Defect" and "No Faults Forward" culture.
     

    What you'll do...

    1. VO & Field Quality Leadership

    VO Interface: Act as the primary point of contact for Vehicle Operations (VO) plants regarding battery pack quality concerns.

    Warranty Analysis: Monitor and analyze field warranty data to identify emerging trends and failure modes; lead investigations into high-impact "Time-In-Service" (TIS) failures.

    Vehicle Pulls: Coordinate and lead "Vehicle Pulls" and physical inspections of battery packs at VO plants or in the field to characterize issues.

    Issue Resolution: Drive the resolution of VO and Field concerns by collaborating with Product Development (PD), Plant Engineering, and Suppliers.

    2. Problem Resolving Team (PRT) & Technical Analysis

    PRT Leadership: Lead and facilitate the Battery Pack Problem Resolving Team (PRT) meetings, ensuring a disciplined approach to the 8D process.

    Root Cause Investigation: Conduct in-depth technical investigations into complex issues involving battery chemistry, electrical systems (BMS), and mechanical assembly.

    ECB Participation: Support the Engineering Change Board (ECB) by assessing the quality impact of proposed design or process changes on the customer experience.

    Data Interpretation: Interpret complex data sets (e.g., end-of-line test results, SPC, and telematics data) to pinpoint the origin of defects.

    3. Containment & Customer Protection

    Rapid Containment: Coordinate immediate containment actions, including Dock Holds and Special Checks, to prevent non-conforming material from reaching the customer.

    Stop-Ship Management: Lead the technical justification and clearing process for plant stop-ships and quality holds.

    Clean Point Verification: Ensure that Permanent Corrective Actions (PCAs) are verified and that "clean points" are clearly communicated to downstream customers.

    4. Documentation & Reporting

    Reporting: Prepare and present technical reports for the Plant Quality Review (PQR) and executive leadership.

    Documentation: Manage and maintain high-quality documentation for Customer 8Ds, Outgoing Dock Audits, and First Time Through (FTT) metrics.

    Standardization: Ensure all problem-solving activities follow Ford TDM (Time and Data Management) standards.
