    What you'll do...
    Key responsibilities may include:  
    • Fire Suppression:
    o Respond immediately and effectively to all types of fires using appropriate extinguishing agents and equipment.
    o Operate and maintain fire apparatus, pumps, hoses, nozzles, and other specialized firefighting equipment.
    o Conduct search and rescue operations for personnel within hazardous environments.
    o Perform ventilation, overhaul, and salvage operations as required.
    • Hazardous Materials (HazMat) Response:
    o Identify, assess, contain, control, and mitigate spills or releases of hazardous materials.
    o Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and various levels of chemical protective suits.
    o Understand chemical properties, potential reactions, and safe handling procedures for materials present in the facility.
    o Perform decontamination procedures for personnel and equipment.
    • Medical Aid:
    o Provide immediate pre-hospital medical care, including first aid, CPR, and AED operation, to injured or ill personnel.
    o Stabilize patients and assist on site medical staff and external Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel upon their arrival.
    • Technical Rescue:
    o Participate in specialized rescue operations such as confined space rescue, high-angle rescue, and machine rescue, as trained and equipped by the facility.
    o Utilize specialized rescue tools and techniques safely and effectively.
    • Emergency Standby & Hot Work Coverage:
    o Provide dedicated fire and safety coverage for high-risk operations within the facility, such as hot work (welding, cutting), confined space entry, or hazardous material transfers.
    o Ensure all safety protocols and permit conditions are strictly adhered to during standby operations.
    • Incident Command System (ICS) Support:
    o Operate effectively within the established Incident Command System (ICS) structure during emergencies.
    o Follow direct orders, maintain accountability, and provide clear, concise status reports to the Incident Commander or assigned supervisor.
    • Maintenance:
    o Regularly inspecting, cleaning, lubricating, and performing scheduled maintenance on fire prevention equipment like fire suppression system components, fire alarm system components and fire extinguishers.
    o Perform routine inspections, functional tests, cleaning, and minor maintenance on all fire apparatus, tools, and equipment (e.g., hoses, nozzles, SCBA, pumps, rescue tools, HazMat detection devices, etc.) to ensure compliance and peak operational readiness.
    o Ensure all internal apparatus fire pump components are operating properly, lubricate control valves, and identify any issues that require correction.
    o Document all maintenance activities and report any unresolved deficiencies or malfunctions promptly.

    o Collaborate with production operators, engineers, and maintenance technicians to identify and address fire prevention equipment issues, isolate compromised fire prevention system(s), and manage fire suppression system impairments.  

    • Facility Inspections:
    o Conduct routine and systematic fire safety inspections of buildings, processing units, storage areas, and equipment to identify potential fire hazards, unsafe conditions, or non-compliance issues.
    o Inspect fire suppression systems (sprinklers, standpipes, fire alarms), fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, and exit routes for proper function and readiness.
    • Pre-Incident Planning:
    o Participate in the development and review of pre-incident plans for various scenarios throughout the facility.
    o Thoroughly understand building layouts, process flow diagrams, hazardous material locations, utility shut-offs, and emergency egress routes.
    • Permit System Compliance:
    o Review and verify compliance for hot work permits, confined space entry permits, and other safety-related permits, ensuring all conditions are met before and during operations.
    • Risk Assessment:
    o Actively participate in identifying and assessing risks related to fire, explosion, and other emergencies within the industrial environment.
    • Safety Adherence:
    o Strictly adhere to all company policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety regulations, and industry best practices.
    o Proactively identify, report, and help mitigate unsafe conditions or practices observed within the facility.
    o Consistently and correctly wear and maintain all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
    • Inventory Management:
    o Maintain accurate inventory of all firefighting supplies, HazMat absorbents, medical supplies, and rescue equipment.
    o Ensure proper storage and accessibility of all emergency response assets.
    • Continuous Learning:
    o Actively participate in all required internal and external training programs, drills, and exercises, including but not limited to: fire suppression techniques, HazMat operations/technician level, medical refreshers, technical rescue disciplines, and SCBA proficiency.
    o Maintain physical fitness standards necessary for the demanding nature of the job.
    • Internal Training Support:
    o Assist in developing and delivering fire safety and emergency preparedness training to facility personnel (e.g., fire extinguisher use, emergency evacuation procedures, basic first aid).
    • Incident Reporting:
    o Accurately and thoroughly document all incidents, near-misses, inspections, training activities, and equipment maintenance in logs, reports, and digital systems.
    o Provide clear and concise written and verbal reports.

    What you'll do...

    Job Summary:
    Blue Oval Battery Park Michigan is seeking highly motivated and detailed oriented Quality Operator personnel to join our cutting-edge battery cell manufacturing facility in Marshall, MI. This critical role is responsible for ensuring that manufactured products meet established quality standards and specifications, maintaining the integrity of our products throughout the production process. This Operator will perform comprehensive inspections and tests, document results, Identify and address defects, and contribute to the continuous improvement of quality control procedures, including visuals inspections at key points, final product quality, outgoing shipments, and in line quality gates.


    Responsibilities:
    • Quality Assurance and Inspection: Implement and promote a strong quality culture within the Plant. Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of raw materials, in process components, and finished battery cells and components throughout the manufacturing process. Monitor and force quality gates, conduct final quality product inspections, and verify outgoing quality by auditing finished goods before shipment.
    • Testing & Analysis: Conduct various tests according to established procedures to verify product performance and compliance with specifications. This includes chemical residue testing, tensile strength testing, contamination testing, metallographic analysis and other specialized tests. Operate and maintain a range of testing equipment such as CT scans, X-ray imaging, CMM’s, tensile testing machines, and thermalgravimetric analysis (TGA) equipment.
    • Documentation & Reporting: Accurately record inspection and test data, documenting any deviations from specifications or defects. Maintain detailed logs and reports of all quality control activities, including non-conformances and process deviations. Communicate findings clearly to supervisors, engineers, and production personnel. 
    • Root Cause Analysis & Improvement: Assist in the investigation of root causes of defects and implement effective corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence. Proactively identify opportunities for improving quality control processes and procedures and participate in continuous improvement initiatives and quality audits. 
    • Standards & Compliance:  Adhere to established quality control procedures and standards, including ISO 9001, IATF16949, And other relevant industry specific quality management systems. Support and conduct internal and external audits across multiple functions and groups.
    • Technical Interpretation & Equipment Calibration: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions to ensure proper product dimensions and tolerances. Ensure that all measurement and testing equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
    • Collaboration & Safety: Work closely with production and engineering teams to address and resolve quality issues. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality regulations. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following all safety procedures.
    • Training & Development: Support the department’s training management, promoting the implementation of the plan's quality training plan. Provide technical training and testing for new employees with the QA and PRD departments.

    Minimum requirements:

    Qualifications:
    •    Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. 
    •    Experience: At least 2 years of experience in quality control role within a manufacturing, environment is preferred.
     

    Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in using various measuring tools and operating testing equipment (e.g. Calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM, CT, X-Ray, tensile testers, TGA).
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, work instructions.
    • Knowledge of troubleshooting tools such as Six Sigma, statistical process control, and 5-Why.
    • Familiarity with ISO9001, IATF16949 standards, or other relevant quality management systems.
    • Scope for use of office software for data processing and report output.
    • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects and irregularities accurately.
    • Willingness to work in a clean room or controlled environment as required.

    The Customer Quality Engineer (CQE) is the primary advocate for the customer within the BOBM Battery Pack Assembly plant. This role leads the Problem Resolving Team (PRT) in identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex quality issues that reach Vehicle Operations (VO) or the field (Warranty). The CQE bridges the gap between manufacturing, design, and suppliers to ensure that every battery pack meets the highest standards of safety and performance, driving a "Zero Defect" and "No Faults Forward" culture.
     

    What you'll do...

    1. VO & Field Quality Leadership

    VO Interface: Act as the primary point of contact for Vehicle Operations (VO) plants regarding battery pack quality concerns.

    Warranty Analysis: Monitor and analyze field warranty data to identify emerging trends and failure modes; lead investigations into high-impact "Time-In-Service" (TIS) failures.

    Vehicle Pulls: Coordinate and lead "Vehicle Pulls" and physical inspections of battery packs at VO plants or in the field to characterize issues.

    Issue Resolution: Drive the resolution of VO and Field concerns by collaborating with Product Development (PD), Plant Engineering, and Suppliers.

    2. Problem Resolving Team (PRT) & Technical Analysis

    PRT Leadership: Lead and facilitate the Battery Pack Problem Resolving Team (PRT) meetings, ensuring a disciplined approach to the 8D process.

    Root Cause Investigation: Conduct in-depth technical investigations into complex issues involving battery chemistry, electrical systems (BMS), and mechanical assembly.

    ECB Participation: Support the Engineering Change Board (ECB) by assessing the quality impact of proposed design or process changes on the customer experience.

    Data Interpretation: Interpret complex data sets (e.g., end-of-line test results, SPC, and telematics data) to pinpoint the origin of defects.

    3. Containment & Customer Protection

    Rapid Containment: Coordinate immediate containment actions, including Dock Holds and Special Checks, to prevent non-conforming material from reaching the customer.

    Stop-Ship Management: Lead the technical justification and clearing process for plant stop-ships and quality holds.

    Clean Point Verification: Ensure that Permanent Corrective Actions (PCAs) are verified and that "clean points" are clearly communicated to downstream customers.

    4. Documentation & Reporting

    Reporting: Prepare and present technical reports for the Plant Quality Review (PQR) and executive leadership.

    Documentation: Manage and maintain high-quality documentation for Customer 8Ds, Outgoing Dock Audits, and First Time Through (FTT) metrics.

    Standardization: Ensure all problem-solving activities follow Ford TDM (Time and Data Management) standards.

    5. Work Environment:

    This role typically involves a mix of office work and significant time spent on the manufacturing floor. May require occasional travel to VO plants and other company locations.

    What you'll do...

    Supporting all accounting-related activities including month, quarter, and year-end close processes in accordance with GAAP

    Support the development of accounting processes and recommending solutions to optimize accounting efficiency
    Support development and review of monthly Financial Statements
    Support monthly Account Reconciliation
    Support reporting requirements which include running ad hoc reports from S4 Hana Public Cloud
    Serve as accounting subject matter expert on a variety of cross-functional activities, including liaison with Parent Company Central Accounting and providing guidance to Operations Finance


    Production Incentives

    Support recoding, tracking and accounting for Advanced Manufacturing Production Tax Credits (PTC)
    Collaborate with operating team to collect and document backup support for calculating and reporting PTC.
    Interface with corporate stakeholders to ensure understanding of regulatory requirements, document retention, and overall compliance


    Supporting all tax-related activities

    Collaborate with Office of Tax Counsel by collecting and providing procurement and usage data to determine tax liability
    Support start up ad hoc process which can include researching and recording vendor-related taxes, including sales and use tax as needed
    Provide support in obtaining Direct Pay Certificate and Sales and Use Tax Certificate of Exemption
    Provide support for property and customs duty tax-related matters
    Advise operating team on impacts of tax code and selection criteria during Source To Pay process


    Support the development of financial and accounting reports to support supplier contract performance language

    Maintain effective internal controls and financial procedure

    Facilitate the use of advanced financial tools and utilize effective analysis of large data sets to enable improved delivery of responsibilities

    Candidates must possess full flexibility and a readiness to consistently work across all established standard, operating, and rotational shift schedules, encompassing day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.


    · Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration; Professional certifications such as CPA, CIA, CFA, or CMA preferred; Manufacturing Experience Preferred

    · Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards coupled with internal control mindset

    · Proficiency with financial and accounting software, ERP systems and MS Office; Preferable advanced Excel skills along with knowledge of other analytical tools (e.g., Alteryx, Power BI etc.)
