    As a Conveyor Belt Fabricator, you will receive ongoing training to, safely and effectively, fabricate, install and/or repair Forbo's lightweight conveyor belts, using a variety of hand tools and lightweight industrial equipment.

    Task & Responsibilities:

    The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to the following:

    Shop (90%):

    - Measuring, slitting, cutting, marking, grinding, splicing, using hand tools and light industrial equipment to fabricate custom conveyor belting to orders specific needs.

    -Follow work instructions and processes of specific fabrication techniques

    -Inspect/quality check finished products to ensure product meets Forbo quality standards.

    -Perform Shipping and Receiving of belts and related products to ensure on time delivery as needed.

    - Effectively communicate and cooperate with superiors and peers to achieve company goals and objectives.

    -Use forklift for fabrication, shipping and receiving needs. Training provided.

    -Hours M-F with flexible daytime hours

    Field Service (5-10%):

    -Occasional installation and splicing of customers conveyor belt onsite, with the majority jobs not requiring but some including, potential overnight travel.

    Qualifications required for job:

    -Ability to independently and safely use and/or operate necessary tools and equipment (hand tools, presses, cutters, grinders, etc.)

    -Accurately read tape measure (imperial and metric preferred)

    -Mechanical background or hands-on/fabrication type related experience (preferred)

    -Available for occasional overnight travel and to work overtime, holidays, and/or odd hours upon request without prior notice

    -Must be able to independently perform occasional lifting of up to 75 lbs.

    -Must maintain a professional personal appearance and be able to communicate with customers

    -Must have valid driver's license and good driving record

    BASIC FUNCTION:

    Safely and efficiently operate the embossing station, braking station, inspection station, and winder, coater, and mixing machines for the manufacture of conveyor belting. Primary duties include, but are not limited to:


    -preparing machinery for operation; setting and adjusting machine gauges and operating controls in accordance with manufacturing instructions and quality specifications

    -preparing mixtures of PVC pastes in accordance with formula specifications and in a timely manner to coordinate with scheduled production runs

    -operating machinery, changing rollers and ensuring proper fabric feed and tension; ensuring proper feed of coating material and that fabric is wound free of folds and creases

    -thoroughly inspecting fabric and raw materials for visual flaws and defects -ensuring correct materials are being used and inspecting material thickness, width, surface, bonding strength, etc.

    -maintaining close observation of production processes to identify and correct any malfunctions, defects or flaws

    -completing and maintaining required reports


    QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

    Ability to read, understand and follow manufacturing instructions for manufacturing processes, including units of measure in both English and Metric.

    Need strong math skills with the ability to calculate percentages of formula ingredients. Acuity of vision (corrected to 20/20) in order to be able to visually detect flaws and defects in fabric.

    Ability to independently and safely operate required machinery and related equipment.

    Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with operating controls.

    Satisfactory completion of required Forbo training programs.

    One to two years satisfactory work experience in operating continuous-type, heavy manufacturing equipment.

    Previous coater experience is a plus.

    Must be available to work overtime as needed.

    Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.


    WORKING CONDITIONS INCLUDE:

    Possible exposure to chemical vapors/odors.

    Working with equipment operating at elevated temperatures.

    About the Role:

    The purpose of a fabrication planner is to monitor and manage fabrication capacity and demand within SAP to ensure workload is balanced and accurately reflected. The role includes releasing and assigning dates to customer orders based on available capacity and material readiness. By doing this, the planner helps support realistic scheduling, meets customer request dates, and contributes to improving overall On-Time Delivery (OTD).

    Tasks and duties

    Review New SAP Orders: Check SAP each day for newly created customer orders and verify accuracy of order details. · Monitor Capacity Loads: Review work center capacity to ensure demand aligns with available hours and identify potential overloads early. · Release and Date Orders: Assign realistic fabrication dates and release orders based on material availability and required lead times. · Communicate Schedule Risks: Notify supervisors, planners, or customer service when capacity, material delays, or constraints may impact promised dates. · Use SAP Scheduling Data: Reference scheduled manufacturing dates or purchase order dates, including external PO timelines, to confirm material readiness. · Maintain Accurate SAP Data: Update dates, statuses, and notes to keep the system clean and reliable for downstream teams.Address Issues Promptly: Respond quickly and professionally to any problems, delays, or customer concerns that arise. ·Support OTD Tracking: Assist with reviewing late orders, root causes, and corrective actions related to fabrication delays. · Maintain Compliance: Follow all company policies, safety regulations, legal requirements, and ISO standards.
