We are seeking a Medical Assistant in Podiatry to become part of our team! You will perform routine administrative and clinical assignments to keep the medical facility running smoothly. This is a fast paced environment and you must have the ability to multi task and pay attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine clinical tasks to support medical staffEscort patients to exam roomsPerform procedures or therapies under supervision of physician.Assist physician in exam rooms.Escort patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient’s electronic medical record.Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician.Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed and is available in patients’ electronic medical records prior to their appointmentKeep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required.Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls.Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to physician(s).Assist with maintaining logs and required checks (i.e. inventory sheets, expired medications or supplies) and notifies lead MA.All other duties as assigned by lead MA, office manager, or physician.Qualifications:
Previous experience in a clinical setting with at least one (1) year preferred. We are seeking a seasoned Medical Billing Specialist (certified coder) for a busy practice of two Providers in Podiatry (George Dieter location opening soon!). Must have background or experience in a medical setting (private practice or hospital). The candidate should be a team player, ability to take initiative and multi task. This is a full time position, part time not available. Bilingual is preferred but not required. Position Requirements:
Education - High school graduate or equivalent with good computer application experience, customer service and problem solving skills.Experience – At least one (1) year of insurance billing and general office duty experience required. Employee will have knowledge and experience with claims processing and will possess an aptitude for accuracy, good judgment and initiative. Employee will have a clear understanding of all account or invoice level activities for analysis and problem solving tasks.Certifications: Must be a certified coder through the National Healthcareer Association, or other recognized coding institution. May attain certification within 90 days of employment and proof must be provided upon registering for certification.Knowledge:
Knowledge of billing practices including clinic policies and procedures.Knowledge of coding and clinic operating policies.Knowledge of medical terminology.Knowledge of insurance industry.Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to type correspondence.Skills
Skill in computer programs, spreadsheets, application and EMR or Practice Management systems.Skill in using a calculatorSkill in typing 40 wpm.Abilities
