The Opportunity
In the role of Engineering Lab Service Technician, you will provide critical technical support to our core engineering efforts. This position is vital for ensuring the sustained health, performance, and ongoing advancement of the entire Flock product suite. You will engage deeply with early-stage electrical design, the construction of mechanical prototypes, initial software implementation, and the gathering of essential testing data
In this position you will:
Execute the assembly and fabrication of sophisticated hardware prototypes at the PCB level.
Troubleshoot and remediate complex technical malfunctions within various hardware prototype iterations.
Iterate on and refine pre-production units to optimize overall system performance.

Salary & Equity

The OpportunityJoin the Flock as a quality control technician and become an essential part of our team dedicated to building and maintaining world-class public safety products. We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Control Technician based in Atlanta with a minimum of three years of experience in mechanical and electrical quality inspection and testing.
In this role, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all critical components, subassemblies, and associated materials for Flock Unmanned Aircraft Systems and connected devices meet stringent requirements for quality, safety, performance, and reliability during the production process, and before the final solution is delivered to the customer.
You will work collaboratively with the Quality, NPI (New Product Introduction), Engineering, and Production teams. Your efforts will focus on identifying defects, troubleshooting issues, and continuously improving inspection and testing processes.
Key Responsibilities:Inspect incoming components, materials, in-process assemblies, and finished products for compliance with specifications and industry standards
Perform functional and performance testing on sub-assemblies such as motors, Processor subsystems, Battery/DC power supplies, connectivity components, sensors, camera modules, cable harnesses, and more
Execute and document test protocols per established test procedures
Identify, record, and track defects through established quality management systems.
Maintain calibration of inspection & testing equipment and ensure proper lab setup for device evaluation
Promptly initiate and document Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), including detailed descriptions of non-conformities and potential impact.
Collaborate with Quality, NPI, and Engineering teams to address and resolve quality issues
Operate and troubleshoot automated programming equipment used to "flash" microcontrollers and other programmable components.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process gaps and proposing enhancements.
Collaborate with Flock Quality and NPI Engineers to address NCRs, facilitating communication and corrective actions to resolve quality issues.
The SkillsetMinimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
3+ years of experience in quality control, testing, or inspection of IoT devices, Aerospace electronics, robotics, cameras, or related device hardware.
Experience inspecting to IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies) and IPC/WHMA-A-620 (Cable & Wire Harness Assemblies)
Strong understanding of including wireless protocols (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LTE, etc.)
Proficiency in standard inspection techniques, measurement tools, and equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges, to verify product dimensions, tolerances, etc.
Knowledge of Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) principles and experience in applying AQL sampling plans
Experience with test instruments such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, or automated test rigs.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
Proficiency with documentation tools such as Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Quality management procedures.

Pay: $55,000 - 65,000/year + Overtime + Stock OptionsTravel: 1-2 weeks per month, up to 50%The RoleJoin our Field Operations team and help keep communities safe by installing and maintaining camera and solar infrastructure. As a growing multi-product company, this role now spans both new installations and ongoing maintenance across a wide variety of sites, equipment, and customer environments. You’ll work hands-on in the field, adapt to dynamic schedules, and see the impact of your work every day.
What You’ll DoInstall, maintain, and service poles, solar panels, batteries, and camera systems across diverse customer sites
Install poles of varying lengths per specifications, including digging post holes a minimum of Mount solar panels and external batteries; install and align LPR cameras with PTZ technology
Perform both installations and maintenance (approximately 50/50 split)
Work on public and private roadways, frequently on equipment 10–12 feet high
Use ladders and bucket trucks to safely work at heights of up to 30 feet
Use power and hand tools; repair minor breaks in underground irrigation or private wiring
Drive company vehicles and tow small trailers; support DFR (Drone as First Responder) units and mobile security trailers
Meet with customers to perform site surveys and discuss installation options
Interpret traffic control plans and permit drawings to identify compliant installation locations
Track inventory, receive shipments, and submit installation photos and updates via the Flock Field mobile app
Perform all work in a safe, professional, and compliant manner
Adapt to dynamic scheduling, often with 2–3 days’ notice
Travel ExpectationsThis position requires a 50% travel commitment, typically consisting of 1–2 weeks of travel per month. You should expect to be in the field Monday through Friday, with the occasional Saturday required for travel or project completion.
What We’re Looking ForComfortable with physical work, including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, and working outdoors
Experience in construction, electrical, low-voltage wiring, or similar hands-on roles preferred
Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort using tools and equipment
Ability to work independently across varying job types and environments
Comfortable driving vans and trucks and towing small trailers
(Must be 21+ with a valid driver’s license)
Basic computer and mobile app skills; willingness to learn new technology
