The Opportunity
In the role of Engineering Lab Service Technician, you will provide critical technical support to our core engineering efforts. This position is vital for ensuring the sustained health, performance, and ongoing advancement of the entire Flock product suite. You will engage deeply with early-stage electrical design, the construction of mechanical prototypes, initial software implementation, and the gathering of essential testing data
In this position you will:
Execute the assembly and fabrication of sophisticated hardware prototypes at the PCB level.
Troubleshoot and remediate complex technical malfunctions within various hardware prototype iterations.
Iterate on and refine pre-production units to optimize overall system performance.
Utilize additive manufacturing technologies to realize mechanical concepts while driving engineering improvements and managing technical escalations.
Manage the deployment of firmware updates and software release cycles across operational systems within the Flock ecosystem..

Salary & Equity
In this role, you’ll receive a starting salary between $60,000 and $80,000 as well as Flock Stock Options. Base salary is determined by job-related experience, education/training, as well as market indicators. Your recruiter will discuss this in-depth with you during our first chat.

Pay: $55,000 - 65,000/year + Overtime + Stock OptionsJoin our Field Operations team and help keep communities safe by installing and maintaining camera and solar infrastructure. As a growing multi-product company, this role now spans both new installations and ongoing maintenance across a wide variety of sites, equipment, and customer environments. You’ll work hands-on in the field, adapt to dynamic schedules, and see the impact of your work every day.
What You’ll DoInstall, maintain, and service poles, solar panels, batteries, and camera systems across diverse customer sites
Install poles of varying lengths per specifications, including digging post holes a minimum of Mount solar panels and external batteries; install and align LPR cameras with PTZ technology
Perform both installations and maintenance (approximately 50/50 split)
Work on public and private roadways, frequently on equipment 10–12 feet high
Use ladders and bucket trucks to safely work at heights of up to 30 feet
Use power and hand tools; repair minor breaks in underground irrigation or private wiring
Drive company vehicles and tow small trailers; support DFR (Drone as First Responder) units and mobile security trailers
Meet with customers to perform site surveys and discuss installation options
Interpret traffic control plans and permit drawings to identify compliant installation locations

The RoleFlock Safety is seeking a Field Deployment Specialist to support the nationwide deployment of our Drone as a First Responder (DFR) program. This is a highly travel-intensive, field-based role focused on installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting DFR systems across the U.S. You will work closely with internal teams and public safety customers to ensure successful, consistent deployments at scale.
This is not a drone pilot role. This position is focused on infrastructure deployment, installation, and system support rather than operating drones. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable operating independently in dynamic field environments.
What You’ll DoTravel to customer sites (up to 100%) to install, maintain, and support DFR systems
Conduct site assessments to confirm power, mounting, connectivity, and access requirements
Install and configure hardware including cameras, drone docks, and supporting infrastructure
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network connectivity issues in the field
Complete installation documentation, including photos, notes, and service records
Work with internal teams to resolve issues and improve field operations
Communicate effectively with customers during installation and support activities
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety standards and applicable codes
What We’re Looking ForExperience with drone systems, surveillance technology, or public safety environments
Experience in field-based work, such as construction, low-voltage installation, telecommunications, or similar technical environments
FAA Part 107 Certification or willingness to obtain within 45 days of hire
