    Summary

    The responsibilities of a Server in our restaurant are to greet guests, seat them down, help them with menu recommendations, take and deliver orders (carry trays), and clear tables. All our servers are also responsible for handling cash and credit card transactions.


    To help our restaurant provide a pleasurable dining experience, a good server should be able to ensure that our guests are fully satisfied by being friendly, courteous, accommodating, and reliable. A suitable candidate for the job should also be a problem-solver and a team player.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities including the following:

    Greeting, seating, and escorting guests.Providing menu recommendations and additional information.Upselling additional products when appropriate.Helping guests with menu recommendations.Taking orders using software, order slips, or by memorization.Communicating order details to the kitchen staff.Delivering food and beverages in a timely fashion.Delivering checks and collecting bill payments.Cleaning and maintaining the appearance of tables and tableware.Providing exceptional customer experience.Develop and maintain professional and functional working relationships with IHOP employees and customers. Handle guest complaints in a timely manner, inquire about the quality of the dining experience, thank customers and invite them to return. Memorize and apply IHOP terminology, abbreviations, methodologies, plating, and menu knowledge. Comply with SOP methods of creating guest checks and maintaining cash control. Stock and rotate all needed supplies in the service area and the dining room. Comply with all local and SOP health, sanitation, and safety guidelines. Check restrooms hourly to ensure proper stock levels and cleanliness. Clear, clean, manicure, re-set tables, clean chairs, booths, and floors. Perform all cleaning duties according to posted cleaning charts. Comply with IHOP uniform and appearance standards per the IHOP SOP guidelines.Perform other assignments or tasks as assigned by the General Manager, Assistant Manager, or acting supervisor.

    Summary

    IHOP Combo’s / Bussers / Dish Machine Operators (DMO) will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining dishware/utensils for the continued smooth operation of the restaurant. IHOP DMOs will also perform assigned sanitation and housekeeping tasks. DMO must have good communication skills and work well with others. This position requires you to stand for up to 8 hours during a shift, be able to lift at least and/or move up to 50 pounds, and have full mobility of hands and arms while performing repetitive tasks. IHOP DMOs are also required to perform duties necessary for restaurant operations as assigned by acting supervisor, following governmental and company policies.     Assist in the achievement of budgeted sales and profit. Conduct operations training for craft employees designed to improve unit operations and the guest experience. Execute annual financial, local restaurant marketing, customer service, and human resource objectives, strategies and tactics for unit, as defined by the current Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and current operations plan. Manage the restaurant floor such that the focus is placed on regular contact with restaurant customers. Maintain the frequency of customer complaints within acceptable limits and handle complaints in a professional, understanding, and timely manner. Ensure comment cards are in use with your store number and address located at the bottom and acted upon. Do your figure 8’s. Comply with Federal, State, and local regulations which are applicable to the unit. Assist in the recruitment, Dine Academy training, coaching and/or corrective action, and retention as defined by the current SOP and operations plan for the unit. Properly document performance problems. Communicate and enforce policies on discrimination and sexual harassment. Maintain crew member appearance and uniform standards. Ensure food is in compliance with the SOP in areas of recipes, plating, and garnishes. Ensure food is presented well, served at appropriate temperatures and within standard ticket times. Ensure adequate levels of food, paper, kitchen, safety, janitorial, uniform, linen, and miscellaneous supplies. Ensure the proper operational condition of equipment, building structure, and premises according to regulations and SOP. Maintain the interior and exterior appearance of the restaurant. Ensure sanitation practices are maintained according to OSHA, Federal, State, and local regulations, and SOP. Ensure that food is properly stored (labeled, dated, rotated) and proper temperatures are maintained. Monitor a deep cleaning schedule. Train employees on proper personal hygiene and food handling. Keep the back door of the restaurant as well as the doors to the office, and storerooms locked at all times. Walk-in freezer, walk-in cooler locked at night. Keep menus clean and in good condition. Complete all required reports and paperwork. Handle paperwork accurately and on a timely basis.     Supervisory Responsibilities

    Directly supervise craft employees at unit. Assists General Manager with overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit; Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies, SOP, and applicable laws.
