As an Electrical Controls Engineer at Filamatic, youll bring cutting-edge automation to lifedesigning motion control systems, electromechanical systems, and pneumatics for custom packaging solutions. Youll build filling and capping machines that help biotech, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, diagnostic, and cannabis companies deliver life-changing products to the world.
What Youll Be Doing
Collaborate with a cross-functional team from concept through delivery on custom machinery.Design electrical control systems with multi-axis motion, electromechanical systems, and pneumatics.Create schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and control software for new machines.Program PLCs (primarily Rockwell RSLogix 5000), HMIs (FactoryTalk ME/SE), and motion control systems.Lead and participate in design reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions.Support technicians during assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of systems.Identify and specify commercially available machine components.Incorporate reusable design elements and standard engineering practices.Youll Thrive Here If You Have:
A degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field, and 3+ years of experience.Experience with 2D CAD (AutoCAD or DraftSight) for panel design and power systems.Strong programming skills in PLCs, HMIs, motion controllers, and fieldbus systems.A deep understanding of complex automated machinery and multi-axis motion control.Familiarity with NEC standards, servo systems, and electromechanical systems.Great diagnostic skills and a hands-on, solution-oriented approach.Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $75,000 $130,000 per year
Benefits: 3 weeks of annual vacation, 10 paid holidays, 401(k) with company contribution, parental leave, and comprehensive health (3 plan options), dental, and vision coverage. Eligibility for insurance and 401(k) begins the first of the month following 30 days of employment.

Read LessFilamatic is seeking a customer focused engineer who thrives in a fast pace consultative environment to partner with customers from concept through delivery in the design, build, and deployment of industrial liquid filling and packaging machinery needed to meet their production goals. Solutions range from design/configure to order for standard machinery to full custom design solutions. We support many industries including biotech, diagnostic, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and cannabis industries. Our liquid packaging lines typically include bottle unscramblers, liquid fillers, pluggers, cappers, labelers, coders, and inspection systems.
Our machines can dispense from microliters to gallons at speeds of up to 250 containers per minute. You will utilize your expertise in sizing/selecting multi-axis motion controls systems, electromechanical systems and pneumatics in engineering machinery that meet our customers automated filling and capping requirements.
Responsibilities
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree, in Engineering / Machine Design / Mechanical / Mechatronics or 10+ years equivalent experience.Expert in sizing/selecting multi-axis motion control systems, electromechanical systems, and pneumatics.Demonstrated blank page design experience with ability to produce concepts for new sales applications.Significant experience designing automated machinery, such as assembly, packaging, filling and/or continuous motion machines.Exceptional concept and problem-solving skillsExcellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.Engineering and design principles, Tolerance Stack Up Analysis, Geometric Tolerancing.Knowledge of FDA, ASME standards/regulations preferred.3D Design experience -Solidworks, or similar (Inventor, Creo, etc)Excellent verbal and written communication skills.The ability to control multiple projects of varying complexity from concept to completion.Familiarity with machine shop/manufacturing practices.Compensation and Benefits
