    Process Technician

    Set-up and operate injection molding machines. Process and control of materials. Learn and teach good shop techniques and refine managerial skills.

    • Work with Engineering to write new part condition sheets, help plan new processes.
    • Perform and oversee quality control checks to include the use of computers, precision measuring equipment as well as visual inspection of parts.
    • Clean, Changeover / set-up molding tools, make adjustments to injection molding machines and other related equipment.
    • Operate Machinery.
    • Check and maintain critical molding parameters.
    • Perform the soaking operation of molded products.
    • Use hydraulic and air pressure equipment.
    • Read part drawings.
    • Labeling and packaging product.
    • Material handing duties (grinding, house cleaning, rework, labeling etc.)
    • Teach the trade to both training and lower level technicians.
    • Help plan molding schedules (plan alternate routings when needed).
    • Oversee and maintain accurate records (inspection results, inventory movement & transfer, etc.)
    • Accurately receive and transfer product using the computer system.
    • Assist in maintaining molding department equipment.
    • Initiate process improvements and facilitate department improvement meetings.
    • Contribute to our quality system through continuous improvement and with involvement in other waste eliminating activities.

    Level 1 Operator:
    • Identify safety violations or potential hazards to manager or safety team member.
    • Attend safety training.
    • Maintain a clean and organized workplace using the “6S” system (sort, set in order, shine,
    standardize, sustain, & safety).
    • Perform visual inspection to meet product quality requirements.
    • Operate a Press Brake, Shear, Hot Melt Machine, or Roll Mill as “helper”. Assist “main”
    operator in shearing panels, bending edges, pouring polyamide, and rolling screens.
    • Or Setup and Operate a Crimper, Straightener, Press, Loom, or Welder with assistance fromLevel 2 & 3 Operators. If working on Loom, assist other Loom operators with setup.

    Level 2 Operator:
    • Demonstrates and is able to maintain effectiveness in all Level 1 accountabilities.
    • Operate a Press Brake, Shear, or Holt Melt Machine as “main” operator with minimal
    assistance from Level 3 Operators. “Main” operator must be able to dictate correct setups
    and machine settings to ensure quality products are being made. Provide “helper” with
    directions and communicate what help is required.
    • Or Setup and Operate a Crimper, Straightener, Press, Loom, or Welder with minimal
    assistance from Level 3 Operators. If working on Loom, assist other Loom operators with
    setup.
    • Assist and train Level I Operators and aspiring level II operators if necessary.

    Level 3 Operator:
    • Preset, setup (in a timely manner), and able to be “main” operator on all Press Brakes,
    Shears, and Hot Melt Machines.
    • Or Setup and Operate a combination of Crimpers, Straighteners, Presses, Looms, or
    Welders with no assistance. If working on Loom, assist other Loom operators with setup.
    • Understanding, compliance, and active involvement in establishing ISO standard operating
    procedures and work instructions.
    • Participate in LEAN and World Class improvement projects.
    • Assist and train Level I and II Operators.

    Career Progression Opportunities:
    There are III levels of Operators that associates can advance to. Expectations are outlined

    • Rotated through all of the machine cell and set up positions as an Operator II with
    minimal assistance for 3 years.

    Financial Leadership & Reporting

    Quality:

    Develop and maintain in-process and finished goods inspection procedures that incorporate statistical process controls and real-time monitoring to prevent quality escapes. Establish clear go/no-go criteria for operators and implement targeted measures to reduce the dollar value of scrap.Provide direct support to Quality staff by ensuring there are structured problem-solving sessions, root cause analyses, and the development and implementation of corrective action plans. Track the effectiveness of solutions through follow-up audits and performance metrics.Work closely with QA Process associates to regularly audit processes for compliance with ISO9001 and other relevant quality standards. Address non-conformances through documented corrective actions and monitor ongoing compliance using established quality metrics.

    Continuous Improvement:

    Collaborate with engineering team to identify and execute CI initiatives within the facility.Routinely review work instructions and operator guidance to ensure clarity and simplicity of instructions.Keeps abreast of new technologies that may have an application in our operations to improve efficiency.

    Strategic Support
