Feiwell & Hannoy, PC, is an Indianapolis-based law firm, primarily representing mortgage servicers and banks in connection with their Indiana judicial mortgage foreclosures and bankruptcy. We are seeking a Bankruptcy Legal Assistant to join our team. The Bankruptcy Legal Assistant works directly with clients, attorneys, debtor's counsel, and bankruptcy trustees to help protect our clients' interests throughout the bankruptcy process. This position is responsible for monitoring bankruptcy cases, communicating with clients and attorneys regarding case status and pending issues, preparing and filing court documents, and ensuring matters are handled accurately and within required deadlines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
--Prepare and electronically file court documents.
--Monitor bankruptcy cases and maintain accurate case information.
--Maintain the firm's case management system and track court deadlines.
--Communicate with clients, attorneys, courts, trustees, and opposing counsel.
--Update client systems and maintain accurate records.
--Provide administrative and case management support to attorneys.
Qualifications:
--Minimum of one (1) year of bankruptcy law experience required.
--Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
--Strong organizational and time management skills.
--Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
--Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
--Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
--Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
--Experience with electronic court filing (ECF) preferred.
