As a Women’s Specialty Case Manager at Family Service & Children’s Aid, you will provide behavioral health services that help clients to attain and/or maintain recovery from substance use and along with assisting them with improving their overall well-being by connecting with resources to meet their immediate needs in the areas of physical health, housing, transportation, education, employment, and issues that are specific barriers to parents in recovery.
This position will assist with screening potential clients for services, facilitating educational groups, advocating for clients involved in probation and/or DHHS systems, and providing individual support. FSCA is sought after for SUD treatment due to our trauma informed approach and being the only Women’s and Parent Focused Specialty provider in our county. Women’s and Parent Focused Specialty services means we provide gender competent and parent focused treatment, assist with removing barriers that are specific to parents in recovery, and our target population are those parents at risk of losing custody of their children or are attempting to regain custody of their children.

The Oasis Center is a drop-in behavioral health center located on the main campus and staffed by FSCA. The Oasis Outreach Therapist is a new position that is responsible for assisting the Oasis Center with the implementation of the Together All online resource for students to engage with regarding mental health support and implementation of Mental Health First Aid on the campus. The goal is to help new students understand what behavioral health resources are available on campus, when and how to seek those services, and assist with meeting the student’s behavioral health needs on campus. This might include coordination with other programs on-site at the college, working with advisors to identify students that might need more supports, and developing trainings for staff and students relating to behavioral health topics. The Oasis Outreach Therapist may also be responsible for identifying and assessing the mental health and substance use needs of Jackson College Students, including assessment, brief clinical interventions, systems advocacy, individual support, facilitation of groups and education services, assists with promoting mental health and recovery at college events, assists with our ERN (Employee Resource Network) program with college employees and their families, providing short term mental health support. Very limited paperwork involved with Oasis, which allows the staff to focus on the services provided. Easy to use EMR system.
