Loading & Yard Supervisor
Job Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Fulltime: 3am Start - 9-10 hr days.
Salary: 62,000-75,000/yr
Position Summary
The Loading & Yard Supervisor leads daily loading, yard, and material handling operations to ensure products are safely staged, loaded, and prepared for shipment. This role supervises team members, promotes a strong safety culture, maintains equipment readiness, and supports operational efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring the operation of heavy equipment and power tools.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate loading, yard, stripping, and material handling activities.Lead, train, coach, and develop team members while ensuring safe work practices.Ensure products are properly staged, inspected, and loaded for shipment.Operate and provide backup support for all loading and yard functions, including overhead cranes, forklifts, and manual yard tractors.Conduct and document daily equipment inspections and loading activities.Identify, document, and coordinate correction of product quality or nonconformance issues prior to shipment.Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair needs with maintenance personnel.Maintain organized yard and storage areas to maximize safety and efficiency.Collaborate with production, scheduling, transportation, and installation teams to meet operational goals.Assist with transportation scheduling and driver log compliance as needed.Support production operations during peak demand periods.Recommend process improvements, staffing needs, and performance management actions.
Required Qualifications
Previous supervisory or team leadership experience in manufacturing, production, logistics, shipping, or yard operations.Microsoft Office and WMS/ERP systems.Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.Active DOT medical card.Able to operate a manual truckLOTO (Authorized Personell)
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, crouching, and twisting.Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.Tolerance for exposure to noise, dust, machinery, and changing temperatures.Strong hand-eye coordination and ability to safely operate equipment and tools.
