    Job Description

    Lead equipment qualification activities according to industry standards to support drug product pharmaceutical manufacturing and R&D activities.Lead, facilitate, and participate in technical discussions to successfully resolve problems with equipment suppliers, methods, project issues, and deviations.Design, develop and deploy automation within manufacturing unit operations to ensure competitiveness and organizational excellence.Progress the technical understanding of process impact on drug product, ensuring consistent scientific excellence and scientific quality standards are met.Lead, support, and contribute to internal Fill/Finish activities in support of Lead Stability Development batch manufacturing. Responsible for ongoing production and continuous improvement initiatives.Opportunity to develop process engineering skills including the use of multiphysics software for process modeling and the statistical analysis of data.Qualifications

    Education:

    Minimum of a BS in Biomedical Engineering or relevant engineering concentration with 5 years of experience (including co-op, internships or industry experience) is required.  MS with 2 years of work experience is preferred.

    Qualifications:

    Experience in GxP automation equipment commissioning, qualifications, and life-cycle management are required.Experience and knowledge in GxP Fill/Finish applications is requiredProficiency in sensors and signal conditioning, circuit design/analysis and automation control systems are preferred.Proven proficiency and experience in biologics (mAbs, gene therapies, cell therapies, etc.) within the pharmaceutical industry with a high level of technical understanding are preferred.Effective communication skills by delivering information across multifunctional groups/sites and demonstrated leadership in providing integration of activities s are required.

    Job Description

    This is an on-site role, and it is a temporary assignment expecting to last until 10/2026. The role would assist with an ELN system rollout (Benchling) and SharePoint development for our scientific team.

    Job Description

    The Characterization Scientist will contribute to the formulation and process development of biotherapeutic products. This laboratory-based role is responsible for performing analytical testing and comprehensive characterization of candidate molecules using a range of biophysical, biochemical, and particulate characterization techniques. The position also supports routine laboratory operations and maintenance.

    This role supports biotherapeutic products across the development lifecycle, from preclinical and Phase I clinical trials through late-stage development, license application, and commercialization. Additional responsibilities include data compilation, preparation of presentations and reports, and support of departmental documentation.

    Responsibilities

    Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    Support the development of parenteral formulations for a variety of biotherapeutic modalities, including monoclonal antibodies, antibody–drug conjugates, proteins, mRNA, and vaccines.Perform rapid and comprehensive characterization of candidate molecules to assess stability profiles using biophysical, biochemical, and particulate characterization techniques, including:HPLC methods (SE-HPLC, IEX, HIC, RP-HPLC)Capillary Gel Electrophoresis (CGE)Imaged Capillary Electrophoresis (iCE)Spectroscopic techniquesLight obscuration and microflow imagingAdditional analytical characterization methods as neededProvide general laboratory support, including reagent and consumable ordering, equipment maintenance, continuous improvement activities, and participation in periodic laboratory inspections.Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of scientists to support formulation optimization and overall candidate progression.Prepare data summary presentations, support data verification activities, compile and manage datasets, and utilize laboratory data systems such as Empower and electronic laboratory notebooks (ELNs).Communicate effectively with laboratory scientists, project managers, and cross-functional colleagues.Qualifications

    Basic Minimum Qualifications:

    At least a BS in Pharmaceutics, Chemistry, Chemical/Biochemical Engineering, Pharmacy, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Biotechnology, or equivalent 1+ years of experience utilizing some sort of chromatography (preferably HPLC)Familiarity with biologics such as proteins, enzymes, monoclonal antibodies, vaccines, mRNA, or antibody drug conjugates, and how to characterize them with analytical techniquesAuthorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship 

    Preferred: 

    Familiarity with HPLC, Capillary electrophoresis, and other analytical techniquesStrong computer skills and experience with lab-based computer systemsAbility to collect and analyze data sets

    Purification Scientist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following

    Job Description

    We are seeking a highly innovative Materials Scientist with deep expertise in non-traditional solid-form strategies for beyond Rule-of-5 (bRo5) molecules, including PROTACs, RIPTACs, and molecular glues. This role will support the design of advanced solid form screening approaches, amorphous solid dispersion (ASD) formulations, predictive mathematical models.  The position is based in Groton, CT (USA).

    Role Responsibilities:

    Conduct advanced solid-state characterization of large bRo5 molecules of pharmaceutical relevance.Apply novel crystallization techniques to recrystallize bRo5 molecules.Support multidisciplinary project teams and collaborate with colleagues to define and implement crystallization, polymorph, salt, and co-crystal screening activities according to project timelines.Collaborate with colleagues in Medicinal Chemistry, Formulation and Biopharmaceutics to define and implement screening and characterization strategies consistent with solid form selection for clinical studies.Solve scientific problems using contemporary Materials Science experimental techniques.Contribute to the development of new scientific approaches and knowledge within the Materials Science organization.Ensure contemporaneous and accurate entries are made in the electronic laboratory notebook system according to accepted good practice.Qualifications

    Master’s Degree (MS) with 2+ years of experience or a PhD in pharmaceutical science, chemistry, chemical engineering, or related field.Experience in pharmaceutical solid state characterization techniques (such as x-ray powder diffraction, polarized light microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, spectroscopy, etc.). Strong data analysis and interpretation skills.Experience and understanding of infrared spectroscopy (FTIR, NIR, FT-Raman) and/or SSNMR.Experience with solving Materials Science problems related to large molecules, e.g., solid state chemistry and particle characterization using experimental approaches and team collaboration.Experience with amorphous solid dispersion strategies and ability to develop innovative solid form screening strategies.Understanding of physical, analytical, and organic chemistry.Good organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and excellent oral and written communication skills are required.Experience in mathematical modeling.

    Job Description

    The Associate Scientist provides laboratory support in synthesizing salt forms and polymorphs of drug candidates and evaluates these forms for acceptability as drug substances with respect to chemical manufacturing and formulation into pharmaceutical products.  The successful candidate will engage in solid form characterization and in particle characterization.  The position is based in Groton, CT (USA).

    Role Responsibilities:

    Conduct solid state characterization (e.g., X-ray powder diffraction, thermal analysis, moisture sorption, microscopy, spectroscopy) of small molecules of pharmaceutical relevance.Support multidisciplinary project teams and collaborate with colleagues to define and implement crystallization, polymorph, salt, and co-crystal screening activities according to project timelines.Support multidisciplinary project teams and collaborate with colleagues to define and implement API particle characterization activities according to project timelines.Conduct physical and surface characterization of powders of pharmaceutical relevance. This includes particle characterization (e.g., particle size, shape) and surface characterization (e.g., surface energy, surface roughness).Collaborate with colleagues in Medicinal Chemistry, Formulation and Biopharmaceutics to define and implement screening and characterization strategies consistent with solid form selection for clinical studies.Solve scientific problems using contemporary Materials Science experimental techniques.Contribute to the development of new scientific approaches and knowledge within the Materials Science organization.Ensure contemporaneous and accurate entries are made in the electronic laboratory notebook system according to accepted good practice.Qualifications

    Bachelor’s Degree (BS) with 2+ years of experience or a Master’s degree (MS) or a PhD in pharmaceutical science, chemistry, chemical engineering, or related field.Experience in solid state characterization techniques (such as x-ray powder diffraction, polarized light microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, spectroscopy, etc.). Strong data analysis and interpretation skills.Experience and understanding of infrared spectroscopy (FTIR, NIR, FT-Raman) and/or SSNMR is an advantage.Experience with solving Materials Science problems, e.g., solid state chemistry and particle characterization using experimental approaches and team collaboration.Understanding of physical, analytical, and organic chemistry.Good organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and excellent oral and written communication skills are required.A strong interest and motivation to learn new technologies and concepts is expected.Some programming experience is a plus, but not required.

    Job Description

    Preparation of prototype formulations (solutions, suspensions, tablets, capsules, powder blends, semi-solid dosage forms, sterile and non-sterile liquids) for exploratory studies in in-vitro and in-vivo modelsDevelopment of oral, topical and intravenous (sterile) dosage forms for feasibility studies and small scale manufacturing operationsMeasurement of key active compound and formulation properties (such as solubility, tablet hardness, disintegration, pH, isotonicity, color, gelling tendency, etc.)Assessment of the chemical and physical stability of prototype formulations, as well as the performance of prototype formulations using in-vitro tests (non-sink dissolution, precipitation, etc.)Identify potential stability and performance issues with prototype formulationsDevelopment of protocols for preparation of formulations at preclinical and clinical study sitesQualifications

    The Ideal Candidate would possess:

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
