Job DescriptionThe Field Technician is responsible for overseeing the collection, transportation, and delivery of water samples to the laboratory, ensuring compliance with laboratory protocols, safety standards, and quality control procedures. This role does include customer sevice skills, attention to detail and organization.
Perform daily field operations, including sample collection, transportation, and timely delivery to the laboratory Collect environmental samples from wastewater plants, industrial sites, and other designated locations using proper sampling methods Perform field measurements for environmental parameters such as pH, Chlorine, Temperature, Dissolved Oxygen, and Conductivity Maintain accurate logs of sample collection, transportation times, and discrepancies; ensure proper documentation accompanies all samples direct supervisor and /or management Understand and follow all sample collection techniques, safety protocols, and QA/QC standards Ensure adherence to all safety, regulatory, and quality protocols, including sample preservation and hazardous material handling Represent the laboratory professionally when interacting with clients at collection sites Maintain accurate records of sampling locations, methods, and site conditions Coordinate with laboratory staff to ensure correct materials and containers are usedQualificationsBasic Minimum Qualifications:

Eurofins is searching for Field Sampling Technician you will collect drinking water samples from local businesses and residential homes. Employee will pick up and drop off of samples to laboratory and will also assist with cleaning up lab area, picking up supplies and running local errands. The position is based out of Middleborough, MA. The ideal candidate can work Full time, M-F, 9:00am- 6:00pm +/- overtime as needed.
Compensation range - $17-19/hour based on field experience. Full Benefits. This position is outside the majority of the time and will also drive the company vehicle.
MUST have a valid Drivers license.
2-4 years’ experience in environmental and monitoring well sampling preferred but not necessary - will trainField Technician responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Collect field samples in assigned area of responsibility from assigned clients.Plan and complete daily assigned route in accordance with priorities. Notify supervisor of any changes to plan.Prepare and deliver sample containers/materials to various clients in support of their account.Regularly transport, set up, utilize, troubleshoot and break down sample collection/monitoring equipment in support of assigned projects/customer accounts.Communicate directly with customers providing clear and accurate information concerning their sample collection timeline and access requirements.Communicate with supervisor and main laboratory, routinely sending timeline and sample/project updates throughout assigned daily route.Perform miscellaneous on-site testing when required, record all data, and complete/submit all required sample documents.Transport samples from the field back to the laboratory, maintaining accurate sample custody documentation, occasionally link up with other technicians mid-route to facilitate sample transport and supply exchanges.Drive safely and observe all traffic laws. Maintain assigned vehicle according to company expectations for cleanliness and maintenance.Observe all OSHA safety requirements while adhering to the company health and safety policies; do not enter any confined space(s) without direct approval from upper management.Fill out and maintain documentation/records related to field sampling activity. Document all data as required by the method performed and maintain logbook records in a complete and ethical mannerWork assigned shift/hours in support of business needs maintaining flexibility to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays when requested.The ideal candidate would possess:
A working knowledge on the use and maintenance of monitoring well equipment including but not limited to, ready flow pumps, peristaltic pumps, and proactive pumps.Must be able to navigate using vehicle GPS, roadmaps, and written directions.Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills. Able to work with Laboratory Information Management System.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, customer service oriented; internal and external customers.Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time as well as be able to lift a 25-pound object from the floor to a shelf five feet high.Strong time management skills.
