Position Overview
Erickson Laboratories is a small, specialized medical practice seeking an experienced, personable, compassionate, and highly organized Office / Insurance Coordinator & Receptionist to join our team.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a patient-focused healthcare environment, communicates effectively, and takes initiative without requiring constant supervision. As the first point of contact for our patients—many of whom have low vision or blindness—you will play a vital role in providing exceptional service and supporting our clinical team.

Key Responsibilities
Insurance & Administrative Coordination
Request prior authorizations and prescriptions for upcoming services and appointmentsMaintain patient demographics and prosthetic eye information within the electronic practice management systemSend and receive medical records, correspondence, and documentation via phone, email, mail, and faxPrepare patient receipts, letters, and basic reports using standard office softwareMonitor office supplies and notify management when reordering is neededScheduling & Reception
Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointmentsMaintain cancellation and waitlists while filling schedule openings promptlyAnswer incoming calls and route messages appropriatelyWelcome patients and visitors in a professional and friendly mannerCheck patients in and coordinate communication with providers regarding patient readinessPatient Assistance
Escort patients safely between the waiting room, examination rooms, restroom, and building lobbyAssist patients with low vision or blindness as neededProvide wheelchair assistance when necessaryPrepare and sanitize examination rooms after each patient visitAdditional Duties
Travel to the Tacoma satellite office once per monthSupport daily office operations and assist with additional administrative tasks as neededQualifications
Previous experience in a medical office, healthcare administration, insurance coordination, reception, or related role preferredStrong multitasking abilities in a busy healthcare environmentExceptional attention to detail and organizational skillsSelf-motivated with the ability to work independentlyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProfessional, compassionate, and patient-focused demeanorStrong problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work collaboratively in a small team environmentProficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and general computer applicationsAbility to learn new software and systems quicklyWhat Makes You a Great Fit
