Job Summary
The Special Education Paraprofessional plays a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs within the classroom environment. This position involves collaborating with teachers and other educational staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and provide tailored assistance to students. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning atmosphere.
Duties
Assist in the implementation of IEPs and support students in achieving their educational goals.
Provide one-on-one or small group instruction tailored to individual student needs.
Support classroom management by maintaining a positive and structured environment.
Collaborate with teachers to develop and adapt curriculum materials for special education students.
Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and parents regarding student progress.
Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills related to special education.
Monitor student behavior and provide guidance on social skills development.
Experience
Previous experience working with students, particularly in a special education setting, is preferred.
Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices is essential.
Experience in classroom management strategies is beneficial.
Understanding of developmental disabilities and the ability to work effectively with individuals who have varying needs is required.
