About the Role:
ERASTO GUTIERREZ MD INC is looking for a motivated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team in Pomona, CA! This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in patient care by supporting both front and back office operations in a dynamic clinical environment.
Responsibilities:
Greet and check in patients, verify insurance informationPerform front office duties including answering phones, managing medical records, verifying insurance, collecting copaysRoom patients, record vital signs, and document chief complaints in the medical recordAssist the physician with examinations, procedures, and patient educationAdminister injections, perform phlebotomy, and conduct basic diagnostic tests (EKG, urinalysis, etc.)Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring cleanliness and proper supply inventoryHandle prior authorizations, prescription requests, and patient follow-up communications
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant certificate or diploma preferredPrior experience in both front and back office medical assistant duties strongly preferredKnowledge of medical terminology, CPT/ICD-10 coding, and insurance verificationProficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systemsPhlebotomy and clinical skills including vital signs, injections, and EKG administrationBilingual in English and Spanish is a plusCompassionate, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced clinical setting
