The Welder specializing in Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) is responsible for performing welding tasks to join steel components in an industrial manufacturing environment. This role requires expertise in FCAW techniques to produce high-quality welds that meet industry standards, project specifications, and safety requirements. The Welder plays a critical role in maintaining the structural integrity and quality of fabricated steel products while collaborating with team members to support production goals.
Job Responsibilities
Perform flux core arc welding (FCAW) on steel components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
Fabricate, assemble, and repair steel structures and equipment according to specifications.
Prepare materials and surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, cutting, and fitting components.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols to complete welding assignments accurately.
Inspect completed welds to ensure compliance with quality standards and make necessary repairs or adjustments.
Follow all workplace safety procedures and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain, inspect, and troubleshoot welding equipment to ensure proper operation.
Complete welding logs, reports, and related documentation accurately and on time.
