A Manufacturing Engineer – Production Technical Manager for electro-mechanical products is responsible for engineering support for products after development is completed and when they are released to production. A Manufacturing Engineer – Production Technical Manager understands how to leverage their electrical and mechanical engineering knowledge and current manufacturing capabilities to streamline the manufacture of current and new product designs. They can lead cross-functional teams and production technicians to resolve any technical and product specific manufacturing issues that arise and to continuously improve production processes and the quality of the products produced.
Responsibilities:
Develop technical expertise on all assigned productsTroubleshoot and resolve new or reoccurring manufacturing issues of technical productsInstigate engineering change requests (ECR) and support the implementation of engineering change orders (ECO)Instigate requests for temporary deviation authorizations (TDA) and support implementationResearch manufacturing techniques to support assigned projectsImprove test protocols, work instructions, and fixturingSustain and improve equipment and fixture maintenance processes and proceduresProvide design for manufacturability feedback to engineering and development teamsParticipate as a member of the technical review boards for applicable projectsUnderstand and conduct work practices in compliance with current Quality Management SystemsWork closely with the Quality team to reduce internal and external quality failuresParticipate in training of production technicians, trainers, and assemblers as neededOther industrial engineering duties as assignedRequirements:
Skills:
Ability to lead large projectsAbility to communicate independently and effectively with all levels of managementAdvanced knowledge of product designs and manufacturing process techniquesProven experience in managing technical teams and projectsStrong knowledge of technical systems, tools, and softwareAbility to troubleshoot and correct electro-mechanical issues with productsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with team members, stakeholders, and clientsAbility to collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentStrong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issuesKnowledge of industry standards and best practices related to technical projectsExperience in developing and implementing technical strategies and roadmaps
Qualifications:
Bachelor's in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent required5 years electro-mechanical product design experience required Coursework in Design for Manufacturability a plusCertification in Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing training a plus
