Job DescriptionJob DescriptionEmbassair’s Operations Technician conducts a vast variety of duties that include safely providing services for general aviation aircraft, crews and passengers. They will routinely operate ground service equipment (GSE) and use knowledge of the company’s policies and procedures to provide efficient and excellent service to customers and other guests to the fixed base operation (FBO). Responsibilities and Duties:The Operations Technician role mainly operations within the air operations area (AOA) but may extend to all areas of the FBO.· Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.· Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds· Work as part of a team delivering safe and efficient aircraft services while providing a welcoming atmosphere to customers and other guestsReports to work before their scheduled work and is ready at their job post promptly as scheduled. Schedules are provided in advance and may include days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as requested by management; team member should maintain flexible availability.Maintains high level of safety, cleanliness, and security all around the FBO.Collaborate, cooperate and work closely with all coworkers, customers, clients, vendors, and aircraft crewmembers to ensure customer service needs are met. This includes ensuring efficient and accurate communication through various methods to accomplish operational tasksService aircraft as requested by management or customers, such as fueling, lavatory, ground power and potable water services, parking, marshalling, delivering catering and towingOperate and drive ground service equipment such as fuel trucks, ground power units, tugs, and stair trucks, shuttles, etc.Offer, promote, sell and deliver general aviation services to crewmembers, customers and other guestsLoad and unload luggage and other cargo into/out of aircraft and from/into the FBO or other location· Conducts Aircraft Fuel Quality Control operations for the FBOFuel handling including fuel quality control, fuel receipt, inventory and maintaining accurate related documentationProvide professional and friendly customer service while exhibiting a positive and helpful attitude, consideration and courtesy to everyone at all timesUnderstand, comply with and enforce all operational, safety, and customer service requirements for all aspects of the jobWears and promotes others to wear Personal Protective EquipmentUnderstand, comply with and enforce all security (physical, cyber and data) protocols as dictated by Embassair and the airportCreate accurate records pertaining to time worked and activities and services performedAbide by emergency response procedures when/if critical events occurRecommend improvements to Embassair’s standards, administrative procedures, facilities, methods, and practices to the appropriate Embassair management personnelAbility to read, understand and comply with all company policies, safety and ethical procedures, and relevant laws.· Ability to read, write, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.· Clearly communicate in English and with the proper tone in person, via telephone, fax, radio communicators, and in various forms of writing such as data entry, email and hand-written documents· Conducts Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental requirements for the FBO· Escort and transport crew and passengers to and from aircraft when necessary.· Facilitate and assist, when necessary, customers with loading and unloading baggage.· Recognize frequent customers, so as to deliver personalized and efficient service with each visit.· Ensure all departing aircraft have all requested services and amenities.· Create memorable first impressions for customers through personal interaction and unique experiences, which add value to their overall satisfaction· Anticipate the needs of customers and follow through to ensure all needs are met.Drive cars, golf carts, vans, and other similar vehicles.Independently and proactively (i) anticipate customer needs/requests, (ii) perform open job tasks, and (iii) immediately speak up and/or point out observed safety concerns to all stakeholdersEnsure aircraft services, catering, ground transportation and all other flight support needs are in place for the customer’s arrivalProficiency in computer systems such as internet, email, word, typing, and ability to learn other software.Work well as part of a team, get along with others, understand and follow lawful directions and instructions the first time, follow all company policies and procedures, and ask questions to clarify instructionsAbility to handle stressful situations and high-profile clientele with poise, effectiveness, confidentiality and professionalism and always with a sense of cultural awareness and sensitivityAbility to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneouslyAbility to lift light to moderately heavy items from the floor and into an aircraft and vice versaAbility to stand for long periods of time. Qualifications:High School diploma or general education degree (GED)Minimum of 18 years of ageA valid state driver's licenseA professional appearanceMust possess strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.Proficient with personal computers and Microsoft office products.Excellent vision and coordination to move and/or direct aircraft and visually inspect aircraft fuelMust be able to physically enter/exit and operate motor vehicles and ground support equipment such as fuel trucks, vans, tugs, and carsMust be able to safely and efficiently perform various functions (e.g., fueling, de-icing) from elevated heightsAbility to pass background checks (criminal and motor vehicle), drug tests, receive and maintain issuance of an airport security badge, and be insurable by the company’s applicable insurance policiesAbility to pass a color vision test for purposes of inspecting aviation fuelAbility to successfully and timely complete training programsAbility to use a computer and email, including pass computer-based training modulesStrong verbal and written English communication skillsAbility to work flexible schedules and in various weather conditionsAbility to perform simple arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, fractions, angles, degrees, time)Wear uniform and insignia as prescribed by the Company.Preferred: six (6) to twelve (12) months experience and/or training in aviation, FBO, hospitality, customer service or another related fieldGeneral aviation experience preferred.Preferred: Spanish fluency, French fluencyCompany DescriptionEmbassair Miami-Opa Locka, reinvents business and private aviation.
