    1st Shift Position 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Monday thru Friday The Electroswitch Machine Shop, located in Rockland MA, is currently seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker. This position is responsible to build, repair, and maintain tools, dies, molds, fixtures and assembly machines. Assist Engineering with prototypes. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan, construct, alter and repair a wide variety of tools, dies and molds, progressive dies, combination tools, compound tools, intricate blanking and forming dies, drill jigs and milling fixtures. Perform machining operations requiring unusual and difficult setups and methods to maintain close tolerance and fits; bench work involving fitting, scraping, grinding, lapping, indexing, timing, assembly and adjusting to insure satisfactory operations. Make tool tryouts, diagnose and correct troubles, detect faulty operation or defective materials. Keep records of maintenance on dies, equipment and fixtures. Build new dies, fixtures, and assembly machines and troubleshoot as necessary. Assist Engineering with prototype development of new parts, fabrication and print adjustments. Perform quality inspection of new parts from new dies, fixtures and assembly machines before releasing to production. Work from verbal instructions, simple sketches or complex prints to fabricate required items. Assist any individual with a question or a problem relative to tool and die functions. Ensure good quality and a clean and safe work area at all times. Work with suppliers assisting with tool repairs and new tool designs. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Set up and operate various shop equipment. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a level of knowledge that is usually associated with a specialized training equivalent to two years of college plus five years or more of tool and die experience. Must be able to setup and operate Bridgeport milling machines, lathes, drill presses, surface grinders, and optidress and J&S wheel dressers for form grinding. Experience with measuring tools such as: micrometers, disc mics, anvil mics, vernier calipers, telescoping gauges, gauge pins and gauge blocks and comparator. Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs.     Electroswitch is growing! Come grow with us! Electroswitch Machining Center, located in Rockland center, is currently seeking and experienced CNC Setup Operator. Set up and operate various CNC machining and turning centers to produce piece parts to print specifications. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Set-up and operate various CNC machining and turning centers, perform tool offsets, edit program, and make adjustments necessary for piece parts to conform to print tolerance and select proper material as indicated on shop order. Set-up various drill and tapping machines within the work cell as needed. Check all parts to print dimensions using dial calipers, micrometers, drop indicator, comparator, and similar inspection tools. Perform first piece part inspection and in-process inspections as necessary to ensure all parts meet print tolerance. Maintain SPC Data for each piece part. Move parts to next area of operation as necessary according to part routing. Assist less experienced operators with set-ups as needed and as instructed. Ensure good quality and a clean and safe work area at all times. Conduct daily maintenance on equipment. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Operate various milling and/or turret lathe machines to produce piece parts according to print specifications. Set-up various drilling and tapping fixtures for other machine operators. Assist with the upkeep of the area. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Level of knowledge usually associated with a High/Vocational school diploma. Knowledge of basic shop math, blueprint reading and inspection equipment. Three (3) to five (5) years of experience utilizing various CNC machines, Mori Seki, Bridgeport, Nichols Horizontal millers and/or lathe machines. Must be able to work from and read print specifications, test schematics, technical manuals as well as written/verbal instructions or other pertinent documentation. Must be able to use, set-up, troubleshoot and repair, as required a variety of assembly and test equipment including scales, verniers, micrometer, torque gauges, continuity light, power supply, multimeter, oscilloscope, hypot, and other specified equipment. Must be able to initiate and implement corrective action as needed. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Analyze, repair and test returned products. Initiate and implement corrective action as required. Select and set-up appropriate assembly and test fixtures and/or equipment. Perform other duties as assigned or as may be necessary. Ensure good quality and maintain a clean and safe work area at all times. SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assemble electromechanical products as needed. Perform final acceptance of operational testing on electrically operated devices as needed. Inspect/test subassemblies and finished goods as required.
