    Job Title: Production Associate.

    Position: Full-time – Day Shift - 40 hours per week.

    Location: Snover, MI 48472 Salary: Wages based on experience – competitive entry level plus benefits (medical, vision, dental, 401K available, and more after probation period)

    Our organic food processing facility is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Production Associate to carry out various tasks in our busy processing facility. The ideal candidate will have related work experience, excellent communication skills and mechanical aptitude. The successful applicant will be required to operate production equipment, meet safety standards, and report any issues with quality or equipment directly to supervisors. All qualified, responsible applicants are encouraged to apply. Training will be provided.

    Job Description Overview:

    Feed raw materials into production machinery and monitor the production process.Carry out basic quality and testing checks.Store raw materials and finished product properly.Receive product and prepare product for shipment.Use lifting equipment and forklift trucks to fulfill orders.Maintain clean and safe work areas and equipment.Work in a variety of conditions (indoors and outdoors).Complete required paperwork accurately.Adhere to food and safety guidelines.


    Requirements:

    High school diploma/GED required.2+ years’ experience working in a warehouse preferred.Strong work ethic and organizational skills.Multi-task in a fast-paced warehouse environment.Capable of lifting 70 pounds unassisted.Able to work on foot for extended periods of time.Reliable mode of transportation.Able to work flexible hours and days during peak seasons.Pass basic math test (calculator allowed) and pass background check.Food safety and forklift training will be provided.Personal protection equipment provided.

    Cultivate relationships with Eden Foods’ customers, prospects, and industry members that result in merchandising of EDEN foods and mutual benefit. Utilize the necessary business systems and communicate effectively to conduct efficient business for and with them.


    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Familiarity with EDEN items, the Company, its business systems, policies, terms of sale, and practices to a level that enables you to use the knowledge efficiently and effectively to facilitate commerce and relationships.

    2. Success is merchandising of EDEN items.

    3. Contribute to the creation, maintenance, and improvement of Processes and Protocols utilized by the Sales Dept. and the Company.

    4. Cultivate and foster industry relationships to enhance knowledge about and appreciation for the EDEN brand.

    5. Maintain records necessary to intelligently qualify accounts and prospects.

    6. Provide prompt, reliable service to customers, prospects, team members, and Company network contacts.

    7. Work in sync with the Sales Department and Company priorities to ensure effective communication and business essentials in strategies and tactics.

    8. Reliable, timely, and focused outreach, interface, and follow-through with customers, merchandisers, team members, and prospects.

    9. Accurate, thoughtful, and timely communication with customers, merchandisers, and prospects consistent with Eden Foods’ Marketing, Ethics, Terms of Sale, Purchase Orders, and Incentive Agreements (IAs).

    10. Courteous, professional countenance in professional dealings.

    11. A proactive, straightforward, and forthright manner in dealings with people inside and outside of the company regarding business.

    12. Facilitate Company supply to distributors, retailers, eCommerce accounts, and individuals.

    13. Work at, report on, and coordinate Eden Foods sales and service efforts consistent with customer needs, and Eden Sales and Marketing work.

    14. Engage in active contact with Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) and broker personnel regarding opportunities, needs, customer activities, and pertinent market information and opportunities.

    15. Provide prompt accommodation to the needs of Eden Regional (RSMs)and Broker Representatives. Handle requests and inquiries about product information, samples, services, various business forms/paperwork, and logistics.

    16. Help to oversee and manage the use of Eden trademarks, brand names, and copyrighted intellectual property where they are being used. Promptly communicate with management staff about trademark or copyright issues.

    17. Focus on maintenance and accuracy of company data, business records, product, and customer information.

    Purchasing Department

    Position: Purchasing Agent/Procurement Technician/Buyer

    Reports to: Purchasing Manager

    Position Objective:

    Eden Foods is looking for a Purchasing Department team member to manage supplier relationships and help facilitate the efficient supply of authentic, natural, and organic items for its customers. The primary goal is to make rational decisions to maintain proper inventory levels through healthy relations on the supply side while integrating these processes efficiently into the company’s business systems.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Source and Supplier Management:

    Identify, evaluate, and source suppliers, negotiating prices and terms to meet annual supply needs.Farm and vendor visits require occasional overnight travel.Interface personally and through business systems with Purchasing Department members and other company Department personnel as necessary.

    Product Information Database:

    Maintain updated and accurate data in the Product Information Database (PID).As facts are acquired concerning farms, foods, and packaging, insert them succinctly (zero fluff facts) into the PID for access by other company Departments and company personnel who must interface with the public (example Marketing & Sales) and agencies that have jurisdiction over aspects of Eden Foods.

    Product Specification:

    Acquire facts and data necessary to create and maintain on file in the Purchasing Department current, up-to-date Eden Specification Sheets for items purchased on the company’s behalf.Acquiring supplier spec. sheets is helpful in completing this necessity and learning about the supplier’s and industry’s perspective on what is usually included on a spec. sheet for a given item.

    P.O. Processing & Management:

    Issue detailed and accurate purchase orders (P.O.s).Maintain knowledge about the order status to ensure the best on-time delivery to Eden Foods.

    Inventory Management:

    Maintain intelligent inventory levels, conservatively maximize inventory turns, and identify potential shortages or overstocking.Work and communicate with Operations / Inventory Management ensuring that they are in-the-loop for goods routed to them.

    Negotiation and Contract Management:

    Negotiating favorable terms and prices with Eden suppliers.Manage contract data and necessary/courteous communications with our suppliers.Maintain details and paperwork related to supplier contracts with Eden Foods.

    Cost Analysis and Savings:

    Maintain data necessary for accurate landed cost of goods purchased.Remain aware of industry and item market prices to ensure Eden Foods receives competitive pricing from suppliers.Identify opportunities for cost reductions and recommend best practices for business systems and purchased-goods handling.

    Quality Control:

    Ensure that purchased goods and services meet Eden Foods’ quality standards, specifications, and requirements.

    Reporting and Analysis:

    Track P.O.s. Prepare reports on supplier performance.Be knowledgeable about purchasing trends and Sales Department projections.
