Easton Dylan Realty, headquartered in Watervliet NY is in ownership of 30 properties containing over 100 units in the capital district of New York State. After 15 years of business we are seeking to expand our maintenance team to tackle the renovation and up keep of our buildings.
Maintenance Technician - Job Summary:
As a Maintenance Technician, under the direction of the maintenance manager/property manager, you will be responsible for the working order and appearance of individual units, common areas and grounds, and the exterior of our buildings.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Completion of service tickets produced by the tenants and/or management.
Resolving maintenance issues in the area of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliance repair and carpentry
Helping with apartment turnovers including assessment of apartment conditions, painting, sheetrock repair, and fixture replacement as needed.
Preserving the condition of the building by performing preventative maintenance as determined by the management team.
Preserving safe and ordered condition of the properties through regular seasonal upkeep including lawn care, groundskeeping, and snow removal
Adhering to local and state building codes throughout the repair/renovation process.
Operating and working with safety in mind everyday.
Working weekends and handling the occasional,after hours emergency call.
_ Required Skills/Abilities: _
Relevant experience in the building trades and maintenance work.
Strong communication skills and ability to represent Easton Dylan in dealings with tenants, contractors and external customers
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to identify issues and determine repairs that are needed.
Proficiency in HVAC, carpentry, plumbing and finish work.
Proficient at using tablet/computer
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and personal vehicle to be able to drive between work sites and to vendors as needed.
_ Education and Experience: _
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Trade school or equivalent experience welcomed.
_ Physical Requirements: _
Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language.
Ability to lift objects weighing 50 lbs. without the assistance of tools or devices.
Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
Must be able to traverse the property and climb steps and ladders to diagnose building issues and plan repairs or maintenance.
Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
Must be physically able to perform repairs and operate tools and machinery.
Must be able to perform snow removal.
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Schedule:
8 hour shift
Monday to Friday
On call
