America’s National Parks, a not-for-profit partner of the National Park Service, is seeking a Warehouse Support Associate with a strong work ethic to support our retail stores at the National Mall and Memorial Parks Warehouse, located in Washington, DC.
This is an hourly part-time seasonal position and the right candidate will need to be able to work weekends and holidays as needed. The season runs until October 31. Pay starts at $18.65/hourly.
This position serves as an ambassador for America's National Parks and the Parks and will promote America's National Parks Mission. America's National Parks is the educational branch of Eastern National, providing quality educational experiences to national park visitors through our park stores, interpretive services, and custom publications. America's National Parks employees will educate visitors about America's National Parks partnership with the National Park Service.
Primary duties include:
Supporting the daily operations of the warehouse.
Receiving incoming merchandise from vendors and conducting product transfers to park stores.
Driving America's National Parks vehicles to deliver and unload merchandise at various America's National Parks retail stores throughout the region.
Assisting the Warehouse Supervisor with facility management, operations, maintenance and upkeep.
May occasionally work in the park stores as needed.
Desired Experience and Competencies:
Prior experience working in a warehouse setting preferred, including making deliveries to multiple work sites.
Valid driver’s license. Must have an acceptable motor vehicle review at hire and annually thereafter.
Ability to thrive in a multi-tasking, high energy environment; ability to handle multiple tasks quickly and accurately.
Ability to lift and carry boxes weighing 45 pounds, continuously during work shift; standing for long periods of time to include bending, squatting and reaching. Will be required to climb stairs, use pushcarts, and pallet jacks.
Working knowledge of computers.
Exposure to heat in summer and cold in winter, similar to outdoors.
