College Navigator / College Student Support Specialist
Are you interested in providing on-campus support to college students with disabilities as they navigate campus life and adjust to college? Easterseals Massachusetts continues to expand its very successful College Navigator program throughout the state. The College Navigator team offers a supportive environment with comprehensive new hire training through job-shadowing with other experienced members of the team to set up new team members and the students they support for long-term success.
Position Overview:
College Navigators provide on-campus and virtual support to college students with disabilities as they adjust to academics without IEP accommodations and navigate campus living. This position requires onsite presence at NorthShore Community College (mainly Danvers, occasionally Lynn). This position may also require on-site availability at other nearby colleges in the Northeast region of Massachusetts.
Applicants should have full-time availability Monday-Friday with the ability to start as early as 8 am and go as late as 5 pm depending upon student schedules. Applicants should have or their own daily reliable transportation to commute between campuses on a daily basis. Compensation rates for candidates with a Bachelor's degree is $26/hour and $29/hour for those with a Masters degree working a 35-hour workweek.
Essential Functions:
Develop action plans each semester that addresses each student’s goals as they relate to their transition into collegeProvide 1:1 coaching to develop and support concrete goals in areas of higher education and independent living to meet each student's unique needs and encourage independence in all phases of the student’s programSupport the student with executive functioning skills such as time management, organization, scheduling, etc.Identify potential barriers and problem-solve around them with students and college staffCreate a supportive environment between the college and the studentAdvocate for the student by identifying their needs and explain them to college staffMaintain ongoing documentation related to monitoring and evaluating client progress on goalsCommunication with referring agencies and program manager including monthly notes, weekly check-ins, and identifying and problem-solving challenges with clientsAbility to meet expectations, standards, and protocols of work sites and referring agenciesAssist students with navigating online learning platforms including, but not limited to Blackboard, Canvas, and MoodleHelp students understand the current college culture and expectationsOther Functions:
When applicable, assist clients in the consistent and appropriate use of assistive technology as outlined in the action plan to develop greater self-sufficiency and functioning Review and discuss with the program manager potential referrals for other ESMA programs and servicesProvide ongoing program ideas for improvement to the program managerAttend transition-related conferences and represent Easter Seals Transition Services in local and state meetings, as requested by the program manager and/or directorResolves routine administrative problemsAdapt communication style to effectively communicate with all individuals, including those with different communication abilitiesRegular interfacing with students, families, disability professionals, and educatorsQualifications:

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients seeking technical assistance via phone, email, and other communication channels. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, connectivity, operating system, and mobile device issues. Conduct technology assessments and support individuals in building technology skills. Set up, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair technology equipment and software. Provide community-based technology support in homes, schools, workplaces, and other community settings. Deliver basic technology training and support successful implementation of equipment and software. Prepare, package, ship, and track technology equipment for clients and partner organizations. Maintain equipment inventory records and assist with inventory audits and procurement activities. Complete timely and accurate documentation, reports, and billing records in accordance with agency and funding requirements. Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Riding Instructor

Schedule: Part Time (3-6 hr/week) Saturday and/or Sunday Availability Required
Easterseals MA is a well-established nonprofit organization whose mission is to ensure children and adults with disabilities have equal opportunities to live, learn, work, and play. We are seeking a part-time Riding Instructor to join our team at Equestrian Center at Easterseals Massachusetts in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. Riding Instructors will provide traditional English and adaptive horseback riding instruction and equine-assisted activities at the 20-acre Equestrian Center on The Bridge Center campus. Instructors will offer fun and safe lessons while enhancing a participant’s physical, emotional, social, cognitive, behavioral, and educational skills. PATH CTRI and/or ESMHL certification is preferred.
Responsibilities Include:
I. Lesson Management
Assess and develop scaffolded goals for new participants (mounted and/or unmounted) Create a lesson plan and adjust throughout the lesson based on participant needsInstruct a diverse population of both individual and group lessons on afternoons, evenings, and/or weekendsTrack participant progress through record logs, rider evaluations, and subsequent lesson plansSet up and take down lesson obstacles and manipulatives as necessaryII. Handling
Groom, tack, untack, warm-up/exercise equines for lessonsDemonstrate proactive equine behavior management in a lesson settingIdentify unsoundness in a horse at all gaitsAddress basic training and schooling of horses regularlyUpdate horse usage logs in coordination with Equestrian Center DirectorIdentify basic tack components and horse diet, health and anatomyIII. Risk Management
Fit equipment to equine and participantConduct equipment and participant safety checks before and throughout a lessonRespond to emergencies (emergency dismounts, equine first aid)Assist and direct volunteer groomers, sidewalkers and leaders as necessaryFollow all safety protocols, demonstrating and modeling safe work behavior while utilizing proper body mechanicsIV.
