The MSOT and OTD programs operate concurrently and jointly admit a cohort of 26 students each year. All students are initially admitted at the master's level. At the conclusion of the second semester, approximately one-third of the MSOT cohort transition into the entry-level OTD program following mentorship and advising from faculty. The Department includes five dedicated teaching and research laboratories totaling 4,600 square feet, equipped with supplies and state-of-the-art technology. Advanced instructional resources such as 3D printing, classroom video capture, an Anatomage table, a virtual reality lab, and a fully integrated video management system support innovative teaching and learning. The Department also operates a pro-bono Student-Run Clinic where MSOT and OTD students evaluate and treat clients as part of their coursework. The Department is an integral part of one of the largest and most dynamic health sciences colleges in North Carolina. Our college brings together a broad group of disciplines including Communication Sciences and Disorders, Physical Therapy, Nutrition Sciences, and Addictions and Rehabilitation Studies, creating a collaborative environment that fosters innovation and interdisciplinary learning. Job Duties The Project Manager for the Department for People Operations, Success, and Opportunity (POSO) provides planning and implementation support for initiatives overseen by the Department and/or Senior Associate Vice Chancellor and Chief People Officer (CPO). The Project Manager applies project management knowledge, technical and interpersonal skills, and project management tools and techniques to meet the requirements of Department led initiatives and activities. Duties will include serving as a planner and/or manager for the successful completion of goals and objectives on behalf of the CPO. Some projects will require independently directing the work of a team with authority on actions and decisions. Projects managed through the Department will typically involve initiatives and activities specifically designed to support the University's mission and strategic directions around workforce and student success. Project Management (50%) * Serve as project planner and manager for multiple POSO affiliated projects by collaborating with the designated owner(s) to develop detailed project plans to include: schedules, workflows, milestones, resources, and team member roles and responsibilities. * Develop communication plans in collaboration with the project owners to ensure effective team operations, delivery of outcomes, and periodic stakeholder updates. * Plan, lead, and facilitate regular cross-functional project team meetings; develop detailed task lists and document these details using tools such as work breakdown structures or outlines. * Propose and design an online project management tracking system that documents the project planning steps and implementation activities. * Maintain an up-to-date comprehensive inventory of current Department projects, their timeline and status. * Provide regular written status updates to the CPO regarding projects and initiatives led by or directly supported by POSO; relay time-sensitive matters and questions from key stakeholders. * Generate project status reports for groups and teams with relevant progress toward goals, including metrics, graphics, decisions required, actions taken, and upcoming milestones. Contribute to reports, publications, websites, and other vehicles for disseminating information. Project Administration/Leadership (25%) * Independently serve as project owner, manager, and planner by leading and overseeing programs and activities, as assigned. * Assemble teams, develop project goals and plans, and assign roles and responsibilities to meet accountability milestones for the programs or projects assigned. * Convene and participate in various work group meetings to ensure the delivery of outcomes. Project Consultation (25%) * Provide direction and assistance in the preparation of project proposals including expected outcomes, project development plans, schedules, and budgets for proposed projects. Assist in the management and tracking of newly proposed initiatives. * Collaborate with staff across the Department, affiliated committees/groups, and university partners to understand project needs while anticipating and solving problems. Identify and determine gaps in project planning and execution, and recommend changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness. * Deliver project management education to provide teams with best practices in achieving goals effectively and efficiently. * Recommend new projects and workgroups and provide support to meet strategic goals.
