Senior Environmental Project Manager – Carlsbad, NM
We are looking for a Senior Environmental Project Manager to join our Carlsbad team. This is an opportunity to lead high-impact projects, manage client relationships, and mentor staff while driving regulatory compliance and project success. This opportunity is for someone with an environmental science, geology, or environmental engineering background.
Key Responsibilities
Lead environmental projects from investigation through remediation and regulatory closureManage project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and deliverablesDirect multi-disciplinary teams and mentor junior staffPrepare NMOCD submittals (Release Notifications, C-141s, Closure Request Reports, State and Federal documents, etc.)Coordinate with NMOCD, State, and/or Federal entities during the entire project life cycle of any oil & gas remediation or reclamation projectBuild and maintain strong client relationships and support business developmentProvide senior-level review of data analysis, interpretations, and technical recommendationsPromote and enforce a strong health & safety culture across all projects
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field (Master’s preferred)6+ years of environmental consulting and remediation experience, with at least 3 years in project managementExpertise with NMOCD, SLO, BLM regulations and guidelinesExperience managing projects with the NMOCD on oil & gas remediation and site closureKnowledge of soil/groundwater corrective action and risk-based closure strategiesStrong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsTexas Railroad Commission and University Lands experience a plus
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $110,000 – $130,000 annually (commensurate with experience)Comprehensive benefits package: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) with company match10 days Earned Time Off (ETO), 1 floating holiday, annually, plus paid holidaysCompany phone provided or phone stipend after 90 daysOvertime eligibility depending on workload and project demand
