    Summary

    Early Steps Bilingual Preschool in Arlington is seeking a bilingual- Spanish/English Preschool Assistant

    Would you like to join a professional, experienced preschool team in a bilingual school?     *Note*
    If you have your degree, Associate in Early Education or Child Development Associate (CDA) and you are bilingual (Spanish/English) please reply with your resume. For immediate consideration as an assistant and you must have the following requisites: 120 volunteer hours or CDA and CPR/First Aid certification.

    Duties

    *Ability to assist Lead Teachers with their lesson plans and educational activities as well as classroom decor
    *Ability to organize and clean classroom and classroom bathroom as well as school school property
    *Ability to provide active supervision at all times working with young children 2-6 years old
    *Must be a dependable team player with transportation, a person who can think quickly and is a problem-solver
    *Ability to follow school policies and safety procedures

    *Must be able to physically and safely lift up to 45 pounds
    *Must be able to pass a criminal background check, a Child Protective Services background check, a tuberculosis test, and health screening
    *Obtain CPR/First Aid certification (for infants, children, and adults) if not currently certified
    *Assistants must be able to adapt to the companies needs

    Requirements

    Requirements:
    *Must have COVID-19 vaccinations boosters
    *Basic knowledge of Early Childhood Education or related field of study
    *Fluent in Spanish and conversational English
    *Prior preschool classroom experience is a plus but not required
    *Demonstrated ability to work among groups of young children and great teachers
    *Must have ability to work in the U.S. with documentation

    Summary

    We are looking for a qualified and loving Bilingual Teacher (English / Spanish) to work at our Arlington location with our Pre-K students. The classrooms have a Spanish teacher and an assistant teacher, together you will make a dynamic team!

    Duties

    Responsibilities:
    Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media, etc.) to teach children.Employ a variety of instructional techniques and teaching strategies to meet different aptitudes and interests of students, including whole group (co-teaching) and small-group learning.Observe and develop each child help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteemEncourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional conflictsGuide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum to ensure kindergarten readinessTrack children's progress and report to parents through daily written communication, twice yearly parent teacher conferences, and semesterly progress reportsCollaborate with other educatorsContribute productively to the school as a wholeParticipate in in-service and staff development activities and staff meetings as required or assignedAttend and participate in established traditional school-sponsored activities (i.e. back-to-school night, recitals, and other activities customarily attended by classroom teachers and/or faculty members), which may be outside of regular school hoursOther duties as assigned

    Requirements

    Skills:
    Proven English and Spanish proficiency.Proven skills and knowledge about Teaching English (English grammar, spelling, semantics, vocabulary, etc.).Understanding the principles of child development and preschool educational methods.Good communication and instructional skills.Education:
    BA in Early Childhood Education or similar degree in teachingCDA and further graduate workAbility to have transcripts transferred
