    What We're Seeking

    We are seeking an energetic, experienced leader to oversee day-to-day plant floor operations across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts at our Eden Prairie location. This role requires flexibility to work across shifts and, when needed, split shifts, standard schedule for this role will be 2:30pm to 11:00pm. The individual will manage scheduling priorities, review daily operating reports, and drive increased production through strong leadership in Production, Quality, Safety, Maintenance, and Warehousing.

    This role partners closely with plant leadership and corporate resources to ensure high-quality finished products are produced safely, efficiently, and within scheduled timelines. The individual is expected to adhere to all E.A. Sween company, departmental, and safety policies and procedures.

    This position reports directly to the Minnesota Plant Manager within the Operations Division and is an in-person role.

    Compensation : The target salary range for this position is $115,000-$122,000 annually, consistent with our internal compensation framework. This position is classified as Grade 16, with a full pay range of $94,810.51-$150,352.02. You are eligible for an incentive bonus up to 15% of your annual salary, prorated based on your start date. Final pay will be determined by your experience, skills, internal equity, and available budget.

    Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
    While performing the duties of this role, the employee must be able to work in cool conditions (up to 50 F) up to 20% of the time. The role requires frequent standing or walking for most of the day; use of hands to handle and feel; and reaching overhead with hands and arms. Occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, bending, turning, pushing, and pulling are required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and, at times, up to 40 pounds. Required vision abilities include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

    What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

    HEALTH & SAFETY:

    Educates and directs personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.

    When necessary, lead investigation process and root cause analysis on all lost time accidents.

    Enforce safety policies and procedures (both in-house and regulatory) to decrease the potential for employee injuries on the job. Acts as a point of contact for after-hours employee and plant security.

    Work with US Compliance and safety manager to ensure that all annual safety training is completed by all OPS employees, and all Health, Safety and/or Environmental Written Programs are in place.

    Work with FFW (Fitness for Work) for all employee injuries/reports to ensure and maintain safe performance of essential job functions.

    FOOD SAFETY & QUALITY: Oversee the activities of personnel, ensuring departmental procedures to comply with food safety regulations, and current Good Manufacturing Practices ( GMPs). Ensures quality and safety standards are followed, to produce and deliver safe quality food products. Assist with root cause analysis for non-conforming products, as necessary. Make suggestions for corrective actions. Work with senior management to ensure all corrective actions from all audits are completed and reviewed.

    Partner with the Maintenance Department to ensure the company actively maintains the facility and prioritizes repairs to the facility and equipment based on food safety risk to product or process.

    Ensure that all employees, including new employees, are adequately trained and supervised in food safety principles and practices commensurate with food allergens and food defense on an annual basis.

    Ensure that written procedures are established to determine the safety and security of returned goods.

    OPERATIONS/SUPPLY CHAIN LOGISTICS

    Implements and manages Lean Manufacturing concepts and techniques.

    Informs Plant Manager of daily production performance status and communicates any issues that may prevent lines from reaching goals for the day.

    FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE: Control and minimize overtime, premium freight, and repair expenses. Support capital project development and execution. Work with Plant Manager and production supervisors to evaluate goals for scrap, downtime, and performance expectations for each line. CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT:

    Be an active participant in CI initiatives.

    PLANT PERFORMANCE & EQUIPMENT: Monitor overall plant operations for production, maintenance, quality and shipping and receiving standards. Coordinate plant activities with planning department and production supervisors to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner. Function as a liaison to the maintenance team to maximize their operating efficiency, troubleshooting, root-cause investigation, corrective action implementation, preventive/predictive maintenance activities while contributing to internal projects as well. LEADERSHIP: Provide direction, development, and leadership to operations team to accomplish the company's performance management goals and objectives. Use the Spirit of EA Sween to guide decisions. Train and educate shift leads and production supervisors in a manner that contributes to departmental and company goals. Evaluate employee skills and performance, making appropriate recommendations. Promote a positive, team-oriented environment. Hold direct reports and overall team accountable to follow standard work/known procedures.

    Help Identify, develop, update, implement and enforce standard work throughout the department.

    R&D:

    Collaborates and supports product development and execution. Communicate effectively with R&D, Production, Quality Assurance, Marketing, Sales, and other departments to resolve issues and ensure smooth commercialization of new or revised products. Create accurate production cost evaluations for new or revised products in cooperation with operations and other relevant teams. Ensure the timely creation and accuracy of product Bill of Materials, routings, flow charts, and other supporting documentation for new and current products in compliance with SQF and other applicable management systems. Develop new processes when needed in cooperation with R&D, production and engineering teams, utilizing technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment, people, and existing processes. Oversee testing and analysis of replacement or alternate materials in production. Ensure proper communication of process and product changes. May travel to other facilities in support of product development, product transfer, process improvement, and cost down projects. EQUIPMENT:

    What You'll Need (Qualifications)

    Required:

    Four-year degree in Business Administration or a related degree required and 5+ years of leadership experience in a Food Manufacturing environment with a proven history of delivering strong operating results.

    Must have strong leadership capabilities and previous supervisory experience.

    This role requires demonstrated knowledge of and respect for diverse cultures and national origins, with the ability to lead and support a highly diverse workforce in an inclusive and respectful manner.

    Excellent verbal and written communications skills and strong positive employee relations skills.

    Good project management capabilities.

    What We're Seeking

    Produce high quality products at efficient levels of manufacturing using Standard Work, while working together as a team. Responsible for the inspection of all sandwiches coming down the line to ensure appearance meets all quality standards and recipe specifications and pulling rejected products off the discharge belt of the Multivac in a timely manner.

    General

    Control and watch for material waste, i.e, floor waste, over portioning of raw material on sandwiches. Notify maintenance immediately if problems arise with equipment. Contribute to process improvements; participate in lean activities.

    Standard Work

    All products are to be produced to recipe/appearance specifications, using standard work as a guideline on how to perform each position on the line. Ensure the material being used is correct. Ensure correct slices of meat or cheese to deliver correct quantity and appearance.

    Empty production garbage cans into dumpster. Check the line's light indicator to determine when to empty the film canisters. Remove any excessively dirty garbage cans. Remove full dumpsters to designated area each period in the meat & cheese receiving area. Make sure door to production is closed. Empty the inedible tubs under all lines into dumpsters. Dry up any wet area and scrape and dispose of any debris on RTE floor during break times. Keep exit doors and walkways clear of obstacles. At end of shift, ensure all lines are cleaned of debris and ready for the next shift.

    Pack Off

    Empty all garbage cans into dumpster. Remove full dumpsters to designated area for emptying. Dry all wet areas. Remove all debris from the floor in the Pack Off area. Swee floors of Pack Off at the end of shift.

    Temp Room

    Remove all cardboard boxes and break down and place in cardboard baler. Empty baler and place in recycle bins. Keep debris off floor in Temp Room, Bread, Receiving and Freezer areas. Sweep all areas above at the end of the shift.

    Line Cleaners/Tray Washers

    Clean all lines after breaks including the equipment on the line. Ensure all trays, buckets, utensils, etc. are cleaned and ready for Production used before and after breaks. Continue to empty trash throughout shift. When picking up trash from the floor, being close to the line is not allowed.

    POSITION OVERVIEW
    We are seeking a reliable and efficient Delivery Driver to safely verify, load (if needed), and deliver a variety of fresh food products-including sandwiches, milk, bread, and bakery items-to convenience stores along an assigned route.     KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Timely Deliveries: Ensure fresh food products are delivered accurately and on schedule to convenience stores along your designated route.

    Navigation Skills: Utilize written and GPS directions to efficiently locate stores and navigate your route.

    Technology Use: Operate an electronic tablet to accurately record delivered product quantities and complete daily check-ins with each store.

    Tray Management: Collect all empty trays from stores during each delivery to maintain efficiency and cleanliness.

    Training & Safety: Participate in required training sessions, safety courses, and informational meetings to stay current with best practices and company standards.

    Safe Delivery Practices: Apply proper set points on trucks to ensure safe transport and perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, documenting any issues.

    Truck Maintenance: Maintain truck cleanliness and promptly report any major issues to supervisors to ensure optimal vehicle performance.

    Warehouse Operations: Work in warehouse temperatures of 38-70 F to load and unload the truck, verify order counts, and complete necessary paperwork.

    Customer Service Excellence: Provide professional and courteous service, ensuring accurate and timely deliveries to all stores.

    Vehicle Management: Safely operate, maintain, and clean a 24-28-foot straight box truck.

    Documentation: Complete and submit DOT logs and any other required paperwork accurately and on time.

    Miscellaneous: Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support team objectives and organizational goals.

    Hourly Pay: $22.75, consistent with our internal compensation framework.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Age & Licensing: At least 21 years old with a valid driver's license in your state of residence.

    Experience: 3+ years in route delivery driving and backing with a box truck; this role is hands-on and physically active beyond driving.

    Physical Ability: Load the truck; lift up to 75 lbs repeatedly; push/pull up to 300 lbs with a four-wheel dolly.

    Communication Skills: Proficient in English (spoken and written).

    Adaptability: Comfortable working in 38-70 F warehouse temps and all outdoor weather.

    Physical Endurance: Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, and reaching (over shoulder height, at waist level, and from the floor).

    General

    Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to uphold food safety and product integrity.     Standard Work

    Accurately follow instructions from Lead to pull the product from the freezer to the VAC to date code. Unstack boxes, open and restack boxes. Efficiently date code product, assist boxers if product is overflowing in the turntable, and palletize. Unload product and verify counts for accuracy. Knowledge of current label machine and how to change the labels and ribbons when needed. Knowledge of current box taper and ow to change the tape when needed. Accurately operate RF Scanning equipment to assure correct counts. Knowledge of Redzone and all functions that is required per order. Knowledge of operating a pallet jack and motorized pallet jack. Follow all safety procedures. When building pallets, be able to verify product count and product before wrapping the finished pallet. Put the product away in the freezer properly. Properly load trailers and make sure all paperwork associated with the load has been completed and signed. Prior to loading the trailer, check for cleanliness, damages and make sure the reefer is on. If the reefer is not on, immediately notify the Lead or Supervisor. Clan and sweep VAC center floors. Vacuum underneath the conveyors. Dispose of used shrink-wrap into proper receptacles throughout the shift and at the end of the day. Have knowledge of squid ink printers and programming correct use by dates.

    What We're Seeking

    Production

    All products are to be produced to recipe specification, using standard work as a guideline on how to perform each position on the line. Work with Line Controller to set up lines before shift, during breaks and as otherwise noted. Before each production run, the Provisioner relies on the Line Controller to provide information regarding the raw materials needed and relies on the Carry Over Specialist or the Line Controller for verification sign off. Properly load/unload raw material in designated slicer, making sure to wear PPE at all times. Must make sure that all meat and cheese is to specifications. For example, if you notice the cheese/meat is too thin or too heavy, must make the adjustment to the correct recipe weight. Properly operate the globe slicer by cutting the butt ends off each log of meat and cheese. Once the meat is sliced, using the scale and the recipe weigh out the amount needed for each sandwich. Ensure adequate quantities of products are delivered to the line in a timely manner and they meet recipe specifications. Proper operation of slicing equipment. Execute assigned food safety, quality and continuous improvement activities to support SQF requirements, regulatory requirements and customer's requirements. Inspect product and promptly report any questionable product to Quality or Production supervisor or Lead before transporting product to the production line.
