Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant with experience or familiarity in construction administration. This role supports daily office operations, project coordination, and financial tracking, ensuring operations run smoothly from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
Provide administrative support for construction projects and office operationsManage incoming and outgoing mail and deliveriesHandle invoicing, including tracking, processing, and follow-upsMaintain organized filing systems (digital and physical job files)Assist with job coding and cost tracking to ensure accurate project accounting informationSupport project documentation, permits, contracts, and job recordsManage email communications and maintain organized inbox systemsCoordinate schedules, meetings, and office workflowInput and maintain accurate data using Microsoft Office toolsOperate standard office equipment (printers, scanners, copiers, etc.)Utilize and support basic ChatGPT tools for drafting, organization, and efficiencyProvide general support to team members and project managers as neededQualifications

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
Prepare detailed cost estimates for public and private civil construction projects, including earthwork, utilities, grading, concrete, and site work.Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.Collaborate with project managers and engineers to assess potential risk and scope changes.Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and reliable partnerships.Develop and maintain unit cost databases, historical data, and estimating tools to improve bid accuracy.Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess conditions and project-specific challenges.Track project schedules and timelines, incorporating them into overall budget proposals.Assist in value engineering efforts and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.Coordinate bid submissions, including final pricing and supporting documentation.Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and clients to align expectations and manage deliverables.Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience as an estimator in civil construction.Proficiency in interpreting plans, specs, and technical documents.Familiarity with public works and federal project bidding processes.Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism.Deep understanding of material pricing, labor productivity, and job costing.Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience estimating for both private and prevailing wage projects.Experience working with DOT, municipal, or federal contract requirements.Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).Strong knowledge of estimating software.Benefits:

We are looking for confident team players to responsibly represent DSM Contracting in a driver role. Our drivers are to safely and professionally drive a MANUAL Tri-Axle Dump Truck managing company time, equipment, tools, and materials to all our local projects & job sites in accordance with policies, procedures, and programs.
Experienced and knowledgeable adherence to DOT requirements relevant to operating commercial vehicles. Including but not limited to:
Daily pre/post trip inspections on assigned vehicle in order to maintain maximum vehicle safety conditions and to check for any damaged or work parts; or for any signs of tampering.Drives dump truck to destinations applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and familiarity of roads in the area.Maintains a truck log in accordance with state/federal regulations and company policy.Communicates regularly to ensure that delivery schedule is being followed and that any problems with traffic or with site conditions are reported promptly. Awareness of all information on the location of the job site and the locations of any light bridges or roads site routes.Properly pulls levers or turns cranks to tilt body and dump load from truck.Complies with all aspects of truck maintenance, cleanliness and repair in accordance with the guidelines specified in the Truck Driver's Handbook.Demonstrates excellent time management skills completing all duties, deliveries, and tasks.Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned.Performs snow removal operations during winter snow events for municipalities.Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED is required.Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License is required.Two years of CDL driving in a vehicle with a GVW of 33,000 pounds or greater is required.Previous dump truck experience.Must be physically able to operate, move about, and maintain a dump truck.Must pass DOT physical.Willingness to learn and adapt to change.MUST be competent in operating and shifting a MANUAL Heavy Duty Truck Transmission. (Floating of gears, range selection, etc)Snowplow Experience a plus.Exceptional Applicants:
