What You’ll DoAssemble high‑speed production equipment and tooling systems
Read mechanical drawings, BOMs, and GD&T to build and validate assemblies
Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues
Support new machine builds, retrofits, rebuilds, and tooling refurbishment
Perform precision measurement, inspection, and documentation
Assist Engineering and R&D with prototype builds, testing, and sample runs
Provide occasional customer support (~5% travel)
What You Bring5+ years in industrial automation, machine building, or precision equipment
Strong mechanical aptitude and precision assembly skills
Ability to read wiring diagrams and perform basic wiring
Experience with tooling systems and automated machinery
ERP experience (BOMs, revisions, part tracking)
Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and reporting tools
Engineering degree preferred; equivalent hands-on experience accepted

DRT Aerospace is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer / CNC Programmer who wants more than a programming desk job.
This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll take ownership of manufacturing processes from concept to production. You'll work directly with machinists, production leaders, tooling, and quality teams to develop efficient machining strategies, launch new programs, improve existing processes, and solve real-world manufacturing challenges every day.

What You'll Do
Program CNC VTLs, mills, and lathes
Develop manufacturing methods, process flows, and routings
Create setup sheets, operation instructions, and process documentation
Run and validate first article parts
Improve cycle times, tooling strategies, and machine utilization
Design fixtures and support tooling development
Troubleshoot manufacturing and machining issues on the shop floor
Support quoting and estimating for new opportunities
Partner with machinists, production, quality, and suppliers to deliver results
Lead continuous improvement initiatives that drive performance
What We're Looking For
5+ years of Manufacturing Engineering and/or CNC Programming experience
Strong CNC programming experience with VTLs, mills, and lathes
Experience running and releasing first article parts
Advanced understanding of machining processes and production environments
Strong GD&T knowledge
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
Experience supporting process improvements and manufacturing optimization
Proven problem-solving skills and sense of ownership
Preferred
Mastercam experience
NX CAD experience
Aerospace, defense, or precision machining experience
Fixture design experience
Quoting and estimating experience

DRT Aerospace is seeking a highly skilled Senior CNC Programmer / Manufacturing Engineer to develop advanced CNC machining programs and manufacturing processes for complex aerospace and defense components. This role combines Siemens NX (Unigraphics) CAM programming, manufacturing engineering, process optimization, and continuous improvement to drive world-class precision manufacturing.

What You’ll Do
Create, optimize, and maintain CNC programs for 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis machining centers using Siemens NX CAM and/or Mastercam.
Interpret aerospace engineering drawings, 3D CAD models, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
Develop efficient machining strategies for complex aerospace components manufactured from aluminum, titanium, Inconel, stainless steel, and other aerospace-grade materials.
Generate setup sheets, tooling documentation, work instructions, and manufacturing process documentation.
Support machine setup, program prove-outs, first article inspections, and production launches.
Perform machining simulations and collision detection prior to production release.
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and quality requirements.
Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming issues to improve productivity, quality, and throughput.
Optimize cycle times, tool life, machine utilization, and overall manufacturing efficiency.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on process capability, waste reduction, and cost savings.
Maintain revision-controlled CNC programs and manufacturing documentation.
Support compliance with AS9100 standards, customer specifications, and company quality procedures.
Requirements
5+ years of CNC programming experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
Strong proficiency with Siemens NX (Unigraphics) CAM software.
Proven ability to develop CNC programs from scratch.
Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, tooling, cutting strategies, and aerospace materials.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles.
Experience supporting production and shop-floor machining operations.
Preferred
5-axis CNC programming experience.
Aerospace, defense, medical device, or other high-precision manufacturing experience.
Experience with Mastercam, AutoCAD, or additional CAD/CAM software platforms.
Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.
ERP/MRP system experience.
