    Doctor's Data, Inc. provides innovative specialty testing to healthcare practitioners around the world. Our laboratory provides a wide array of functional testing to aid health care providers in decision making. Be a part of our growing chromatography department in providing testing for Steroids, Vitamins, Amino Acids and many tests used in assessing metabolism. State-of-the-Art instrumentation such as tandem-mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) is utilized. The position requires a strong understanding of analytical chemistry testing along with experience in the use of chromatography instruments.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Prepares Biological Specimens for analysis performed by LC-MS/MS, HPLC, and GC.Prepare calibrators, QC and standards as outlined in each test SOPReview and monitor QC for the various analyses and troubleshoot as neededMonitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality. Perform instrument maintenance Perform high complexity tests by various analyzers in the Laboratory, and/or by manual methods, on various specimen sources, under close supervisionWork in accordance with CLIA requirements to ensure quality lab testing

    Requirements

    Bachelor’s degree or higher in chemistry or biochemistry from an accredited institutionAt least 2 year of experience with chromatography instruments (required)Experience working in a clinical laboratory (preferred)Knowledge and experience in chemical principles and concepts with regard to chromatographyAbility to pipette with accuracy, experience with conducting basic laboratory procedures, including using an analytical balance, pH meter and syringeAbility to complete assignments with high degree of accuracy and multitask with accuracyGood written and oral communication skills and ability to read and understand technical documentsBasic math skills as it applies to science, including ratios, percentiles, dilutions and conversionsComputer and application experience, including word, spreadsheet and instrumentation.Day shift, Monday-Friday schedule may vary due to production demands

    In this role you will be responsible for the preparation of culture plates and slides for microbiology and the preparation of tubes and slides for parasitology.

    Work with biological samples in a clinical laboratory setting. Our team of experts will mentor and train anyone who wants to expand their knowledge of parasitology testing. We offer an exciting and enjoyable, atmosphere with minimal weekend hours.     Responsibilities include:

    · Interpret slides for parasite identification, using morphology, shape and size

    · Performs more complex and “non-routine” procedures

    · Follow standard operating procedures in performing test analyses

    · Operate and maintain standard and complex laboratory instrumentation

    · Document tasks accurately and timely as part of good record-keeping

    · Participate in the Quality Systems established

    · Recognize problems and apply scientific methods to resolve

    · Report to the microbiology supervisor immediately regarding problems

    · Ensure that patient test results are only reported with the highest level of accuracy

    · Follow all safety protocols; assure a safe and clean work environment

    · May be required to train or give direction to technicians and/or lab assistants

    · Performs additional duties as assigned

    Equipment Utilized:
    Fume hood and microscope


    Requirements: Bachelor of Science degree (BS) or higher, from an accredited clinical laboratory science program, or a BS or higher in Microbiology with 1 year minimum clinical experience in Microbiology and Parasitology. MT(ASCP) is preferred. Must meet regulatory requirements for high complexity testing.

    Physical Demands and Work Environment: Able to meet the physical requirements that go with working in a lab – standing and sitting for extended periods of time, ability to move or maneuver through various departments around the lab, use of hands, fingers, and arms to handle microscopes, pipettes, lab instruments and controls, occasional need to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, lift up to 25lb, and specific vision ability – close, color, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
