The Red Hat Linux Administrator will manage and optimize Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments. The resource will be responsible for ensuring system stability, security, and performance while supporting a range of enterprise applications. This role requires advanced expertise in Linux administration, automation, troubleshooting, and security best practicesDuties and Responsibilities:Installing, configuring, and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers across development, testing, and production environments.Performing system upgrades, patch management, and security hardening to ensure compliance with industry standards.Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.Implementing automation scripts using Ansible, Bash, or Python to streamline system administration tasks.Configuring and maintaining Red Hat Satellite, Identity Management (IdM), and other Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) ecosystem tools.Collaborating with security teams to ensure systems are protected against vulnerabilities and comply with security policies.Maintaining and optimizing storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.Supporting application teams by providing guidance on best practices for Linux-based deploymentsMaintaining documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.Participating in on-call support and incident resolution activities as required.Setup Network File Server (NFS) and mount points.Configuring Chron jobs for both systems and applications.Minimum Qualifications:Fifteen (15) or more years of experience in the Information Technology (IT) field.Ten (10) or more years of experience as a Red Hat system administrator.Ten (10) or more years of experience administering Unix (AIX) IBM pSeries systems.Experience:Working in a complex networked system environment with strong networkingAdministering Unix (AIX) IBM pSeries systemsAdministering systems including, but not limited to, the applications below:Oracle WebLogic ServersOracle Database ServersProgress 4GL/Database Servers/OpenEdgeApache Web ServersvSphere hosted RHEL ServersRubrik backup systemsOracle Database backupsPeopleSoftMobiusElastic SearchOracle OBICVS (Concurrent Version System)Red Hat performance tuningLoad balancing, partitioning, back-up/recovery, and disaster recoveryWorking in an environment that requires 24/7 system availabilityApplication developmentRed Hat SupportElectronic Imaging SupportAbility:Work in a team environmentCommunicate effectively with internal and external personnelDemonstrate leadership skillsInterface with users and helpdesk for day-to-day supportProvide Backup/recovery and networking methodologiesTroubleshoot at the Operating System (OS), database, and application levels.Knowledge of Red Hat administration including configuration and tuningRed Hat Certified Systems Administrator.
