    Position Overview

    Diamond Properties is seeking a Senior Accounting Systems Manager to lead the administration, optimization, and evolution of the tools, workflows, and systems that drive our real estate accounting operations. This is a cross-functional role that blends deep property accounting knowledge with systems expertise and process improvement skills. The ideal candidate will thrive at the intersection of accounting, technology, and operations.

     

    As a senior member of the accounting team, this role will be directly involved in core and complex accounting functions, particularly those that are currently manual or require elevated attention to detail. This includes onboarding new acquisitions, preparing and automating annual CAM/tax reconciliations in Yardi, and translating nuanced lease structures into properly functioning billing setups. By combining technical knowledge with a hands-on accounting mindset, this role will help convert labor-intensive tasks into scalable, streamlined processes that improve team productivity and accuracy.

     

    This position will play a critical role in standardizing processes, driving automation, onboarding new assets, and rolling out system upgrades—especially across Yardi Voyager, Investment Manager, Power BI, and AI-powered tools. The manager will collaborate with accounting, IT, acquisitions, and property operations teams to ensure accounting platforms are accurate, scalable, and aligned with business goals.

     

    This is an on-site position based in Mount Kisco, NY. The Senior Accounting Systems Manager will report to the VP of Accounting and work closely with the Controller, CFO, and other department leaders.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    Serve as a subject matter expert for property-level accounting tasks such as annual CAM reconciliations, lease escalations, accruals, and construction cost tracking.Lead the initial accounting setup, process integration, and month-end transition for new acquisitions.Lead configuration and administration of accounting systems including Yardi (Voyager, Investment Manager), Power BI, Adobe tools, and emerging AI/automation platforms.Partner internally and with vendors to plan and execute system upgrades, data migrations, and process rollouts (e.g., Voyager 8).Identify and implement accounting process improvements, reporting efficiencies, and automation opportunities.Maintain and evolve Standard Operating Procedures, training materials, and user documentation in coordination with the Accounting Training Manager.Mentor junior Property Accountants in system workflows, Yardi best practices, and policy compliance.Collaborate cross-functionally with Acquisitions, Leasing, FP&A, and Property Management to ensure accurate data onboarding, reporting consistency, and shared standards.

     

    Qualifications:

     

    Required:

    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.5–7 years of experience in commercial real estate accounting, including multi-entity environments.Hands-on experience with Yardi Voyager (7S or later), including property setup, lease configuration, and billing.Advanced understanding of real estate accounting concepts: accruals, recoveries, intercompany activity.Demonstrated success in onboarding acquisitions into an accounting system.Proven troubleshooting skills for both accounting and system-related discrepancies.High proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Power BI or other BI tools.Excellent attention to detail, follow-through, and documentation habits.

    Preferred:

    Prior experience as a Yardi administrator or system lead.Active CPA license, or eligible for renewalFamiliarity with Adobe Acrobat, password management platforms, and AI automation tools.Experience creating and maintaining accounting SOPs, documentation, and user support resources.Track record of mentoring or training accounting staff.Cross-functional project experience with acquisitions, leasing, and IT teams.

    Salary and Benefits

    Diamond Properties offers competitive compensation commensurate with experience. The expected salary range for this role is $90,000 – $115,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications, with potential eligibility for an annual merit bonus. Benefits include:
