    Job DescriptionJob Description

    About Us

Det-Tronics is a $200M global technology leader in industrial life safety solutions, specializing in high-end flame and gas detection and automation control systems. As part of Spectrum Safety Solutions, with 1,700 employees across more than 20 countries, we protect mission-critical facilities in oil & gas, LNG, petrochemical, marine, clean energy, mining, and industrial manufacturing.

Backed by Sentinel Capital Partners, we're investing aggressively in growth and we're looking for someone who shares that mindset.

    The Opportunity

This is not an account management role.

We are looking for a true hunter; someone who thrives on finding opportunities before the competition, opening doors with new customers, influencing project specifications, and winning business in highly competitive industrial markets.

As our Business Development Manager, you'll identify and pursue major capital projects around the world, build relationships with EPCs, owners, operators, and consultants, and create opportunities that drive significant long-term revenue growth.

You'll spend far more time developing new business than maintaining existing relationships.

If you're energized by building pipelines, uncovering opportunities, and winning projects that others don't even know exist, we'd like to talk with you.

    What You'll Do

    Drive New Business Growth

Identify, qualify, and pursue new project opportunities before they reach the bid stage. Develop and execute market penetration strategies that generate new revenue. Open new customer relationships across target industries and geographic markets. Build long-term relationships with EPCs, engineering firms, end users, consultants, and project owners. Position Det-Tronics products early enough to influence project specifications.

    Create Sales Opportunities

Prospect aggressively using industry networks, market intelligence, and customer engagement. Develop project pursuit strategies that position Det-Tronics ahead of competitors. Identify competitive displacement opportunities. Create demand where none currently exists. Generate qualified opportunities for Regional Sales teams to execute.

    Expand Strategic Relationships

Build executive-level relationships with decision-makers. Become a trusted advisor within major EPC organizations. Develop influence throughout project lifecycles. Represent Det-Tronics at industry conferences, customer meetings, and networking events.

    Own the Opportunity Pipeline

Maintain an active pipeline of qualified opportunities. Develop account growth plans for strategic targets. Accurately forecast future opportunities. Monitor competitive activity and emerging markets. Track opportunities through Salesforce CRM.

    Partner Across the Business

Work closely with Regional Sales Managers to transition qualified opportunities. Partner with Product Management and Engineering to position differentiated solutions. Collaborate with Marketing on market campaigns and lead generation. Support pricing and commercial strategy on strategic pursuits.

    What you will bring:

    Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field. 10+ years of industrial business development or technical sales experience. Demonstrated success generating new business; not simply managing existing accounts. Proven experience opening doors with new customers and expanding into new markets. Experience selling through EPCs or influencing large capital projects. Strong understanding of industrial sales cycles and complex technical selling. Willingness to travel globally.

    Preferred Experience

Fire & Gas Detection Industrial Automation Instrumentation Safety Systems Process Control Oil & Gas LNG Petrochemical Hydrogen Marine Mining Power Generation

    The Ideal Candidate

    You are someone who:

Loves the thrill of winning new business. Is naturally curious and constantly looking for the next opportunity. Builds relationships easily with executives, engineers, and project leaders. Doesn't wait for opportunities; you create them. Is comfortable hearing "no" because you know persistence wins. Can influence specifications long before projects are released for bid. Thinks strategically but executes relentlessly. Is self-motivated and requires little direction. Has a competitive drive and enjoys exceeding growth targets.

    Success Measures

Within your first 12 months, you'll be expected to:

Build a robust pipeline of qualified new opportunities. Develop relationships with key EPCs and strategic end users. Increase specification activity in target markets. Expand Det-Tronics' presence within targeted industries. Deliver measurable growth in qualified project opportunities. Contribute directly to increased global project wins.

    Why Join Det-Tronics?

Help shape the future growth of a global industrial safety leader. Sell innovative technologies that protect lives and critical infrastructure. Influence some of the world's largest industrial capital projects. Work alongside highly respected engineering and commercial teams. Join a private equity-backed company investing heavily in growth and innovation.
