    Job DescriptionJob DescriptionMaintenance Supervisor JOB OVERVIEW:Under general supervision, maintains, repairs and overhauls plant equipment as directed. Trouble shoot equipment down time and make necessary repairs. Determine root cause and corrective actions from down time analysis. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and safety procedures while performing job duties. RESPONSIBILITIES:ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Performs a wide variety of mechanical maintenance and repair of production equipment and machinery using a variety of hand, gas and electrically powered toolsEngages in the welding and fabrication of parts as requiredResponds to emergency calls and makes immediate repairs to prevent production down timeParticipates in machinery trouble-shootingPerforms timely Preventative Maintenance checks, and parts replacement in accordance with PM plan for the siteExperience in Welding FabricationOperating various types of welding equipmentAssembles and reassembles equipment; examines and tests mechanismsInspects and calibrates instrumentationTests equipment and adjusts calibration to ensure equipment is functioning is within specified standards.Interprets technical documents (prints, manuals) as required.Promotes occupational safety standards; gives others feedback on their safety performance.This job description reflects management’s assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assignedAbility to meet and deal tactfully and courteously with fellow employees and vendors/contractors.Ability to install, inspect, repair and maintain the electrical, plumbing and other related systems of all locations.Ability to perform various clean-up and maintenance tasks as needed. After serving in WWII, he purchased an existing fruit dehydrator in Escalon, California, to begin his journey in the food processing industry. The plant processed a range of commodities over several decades, including raisins, apricots, prunes, and eventually walnuts. As a family-run business, Michael DeRuosi III began assisting his grandfather at the age of 12, gaining valuable knowledge and experience in the food processing industry.

    After graduating with a business degree, Michael DeRuosi III embarked on a successful career in various industries, including real estate and banking. In 1994, he returned to partner with his grandfather, and together they founded DeRuosi Nut, specializing in processing California walnuts. Since then, the company has grown conservatively and steadily into one of California's premier walnut processors, now processing nearly 50 million pounds of California walnuts annually.
