    SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
    The Special Education Teacher will work in a Life Skills setting. The essential function of this role includes, but is not limited to the following fundamental duties:

    *Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students
    *Support coordination of related services for students on their caseload
    *Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for a caseload of students
    *Implement IEPs, assess students’ performance, and track their progress
    *Update IEPs throughout the school year to reflect students’ progress and goals
    *Assess students’ skills to determine their needs and to develop teaching plans
    *Collect and analyze student data in order to make effective decisions to maximize achievement
    *Discuss student’s progress with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators
    *Prepare and help students transition from grade to grade and after graduation
    *Implement state learning standards, curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations
    *Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback
    *Implement formal and informal assessments to track each individual student’s progress and learning needs, adjust lesson plans accordingly and update gradebook weekly
    *Communicate students’ progress with student and family on a weekly basis
    *Effective facilitation and personal use of technology as a communication and educational tool to improve student achievement and manage work related tasks.
    *Implement a clear and consistent behavior management system that aligns to campus- wide initiatives while developing students’ character and sense of community in the classroom
    *Help shape and develop a school wide culture that fosters a productive and enthusiastic learning environment for each student
    *Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with students and families based on trust, understanding and respect for the communities in which they identify
    *Host necessary tutoring sessions to meet all students’ needs
    *Participate in weekly manager check-ins, grade-level meetings, before and after-school duties, and school wide meetings and functions
    *Engage in summer and year-long district, school and personal learning and development
    *Minimum of 40+ hours spent at school per week
    *Additional responsibilities may include: after-school tutoring or Saturday school and are based on the needs of scholars

    CLIENT'S REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
    Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
    Experience: Experience in a Special Education classroom setting with students who have significant disabilities strongly preferred
    Licenses or Certifications: Must be willing and able to obtain all required valid TX certifications
    Applicants must provide a valid recent letter of admission from an education prep program listing the relevant certification(s) OR if holding a valid TX standard certification in a non-relevant area, provide receipt of a confirmed registered exam date for relevant certification

    * Oversee physical care of YFT residents.
    * Management of resident behavior.
    * Responsible for guidance and supervision of the residents/children to whom assigned.
    * Responsible for the coordinated supervision of the residents to include but not limited to continued awareness and ability to give an account of each resident location upon request.
    * Confirm census count received from prior on-duty staff prior to assuming floor responsibilities. Census count must agree prior to shift departure.

    * Confirm status and location of assigned residents every 15 minutes and if assigned to work overnight shift, every 30 minutes.

    Our Client is seeking a motivated professional to work as a Direct Support Professional in the Fairfax, Alexandria, Annandale, Sterling, and Leesburg areas.

    SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
    * Provide supportive services for children receiving Transitional Living Services in various locations including residential shelters, detention, day/community services or the child's home
    * Fill in as assigned for any aide-level position in Residential services
    * Document all activities specific to shift or service activity
    * Ensure compliance with safe work practices and maintain safe environment in compliance with established agency standards, licensing regulations, and generally accepted practices

    CLIENT'S REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
    * Medication Certification required
    * Minimum of 6 months to one year of Direct Support Professional or similar experience
    * Driving record required
    * Willingness and ability to provide direct care and supportive services as needed
    * Valid Driver's License
    * CPR/First Aid Certification
    * Crisis Prevention Institute Certification (preferred)
    * AMAP certification (preferred)

    CLIENT'S HOURS
    * Day Program: Monday-Friday from 8:00am-4:00pm
    * Part-time weekends for day/evening shifts
