    What youll achieve

    As a Field Service Engineer, you will collaborate with peers, apply technical expertise, diagnosis tools and analytical practices to resolve customer issues, taking care of our customers by delivering outstanding on-site support and creating a great customer experience.

    You will:

    Triage issues with direction from Dell support

    Execute plan of action from Dell Domain Engineer/L3 - (communicate using Teams, Email, and Phone)

    Document POA results, logs and service report (parts numbers/PPID of old/new parts replaced) to Dell via case email

    Reseating parts, swap or replace parts, upgrading firmware as needed

    Sever testing and validation (running diagnostics, capturing & uploading logs)

    Experience with multiple programming languages (C/C++/Rust); operating systems; RTOS operating system such as Zephyr, OS device drivers; system, network; embedded software/firmware; tools and utilities

    Strong experience with scripting languages such as Python skills (pytest/Robot, async I/O, logging, packaging); solid shell scripting (PowerShell/Bash)

    ML skills: model development with PyTorch/TensorFlow/scikit-learn, feature engineering for time-series/logs, evaluation and calibration.

    Ability to code/debug and guide others to code/debug flexible, scalable and complex programs, using either written or verbal design specifications

    Experience with the security development life cycle, including technical understanding of common security vulnerabilities and risks, and countermeasures

    Fluent in utilization of source code analysis tools such as Fortify, Coverity, Clang, and AI assistant tools for development

    58 years of proven experience in Enterprise class embedded system, e.g. Storage Array, distributed systems (multi-threading, locks, scheduling), storage technologies (SAN, NAS, RAID, snapshot, replication), networking, device drivers, clustering, etc.

    Strong in Object-oriented design, C/C++ and Python programming skills and strong debugging skills using gdb

    Strong Linux/Windows kernel programming skills

    Ability to code/debug complex programs in a large and complicated code base, using either written or verbal design specifications



    Desirable Requirements

    Knowledge in storage protocols (NFS, CIFS, iSCSI),

    Knowledge and expertise in file systems and data recovery development

    Compensation

    Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary range for this position:$149,600 to $193,600.
