    Position Overview

    The Welder will operate specialized welding machines to join sheet metal components, ensuring high-quality construction for elevator parts. This position requires technical skill, precision, and adherence to safety protocols in a dynamic shop environment.


    Essential Functions

    Operate single and multi-head spot welding equipment.Operate Tig welderOperate Mig welderSet up welding machines according to specifications and project requirements.Inspect and test welds for strength, durability, and precision.Clean and maintain welding tips and equipment as needed.Perform manual handling of materials using small hand tools.Complete necessary paperwork and data entry accurately.


    Position Qualifications

    High School Diploma or GED preferred.Minimum of 1 year of experience in steel fabrication and welding.Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills.Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.


    Skills & Abilities

    Assist in the transportation of heavy equipment and/or operate heavy equipment safely and efficientlySet up, operate, and maintain drilling rigs and related equipment, including hammer drills, rotary tables, and slush pumpsDrill elevator jack holes with plumb, precise measurements and specificationsDrill large-diameter well holes with steel casings typically ranging from 20 to 30Ensure proper casing installation, including connecting casing sections, setting casing with appropriate tools, and cementing when requiredMonitor hole depth and drilling conditions, making adjustments as necessaryAdhere strictly to all safety procedures and regulatory requirementsIdentify and troubleshoot drilling challenges such as equipment malfunctions or hole instabilityMaintain accurate drilling records, including depths, materials used, and operational issuesCommunicate regularly with the Drilling Manager to provide updates and resolve concernsSupervise drilling helpers, assistants, and crew members on job sites



    Position Qualifications

    Ability to obtain a CDL Class A license (preferred if already held)Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Examination CardGood driving record with a minimum of 3 years of road driving experienceHigh School Diploma or equivalentExperience assisting with or leading large-diameter outside construction drillingExperience drilling inside elevator jack holes or assisting the lead driller (preferred)Familiarity with large down-hole air hammers and/or solid stem auger rigsExperience driving in city and job-site environmentsAbility to pass a drug screen and background check

    Key Responsibilities

    Supervise and support elevator construction and MOD crews within the assigned territory.Coordinate schedules for assigned crews (short-term and long-term).Upholding Delaware Elevator Inc.'s company policies, rules and regulations, including all safety plans.Reviewing and being accountable for bringing projects in and completing them within our customers' schedule and our own internal hours and schedule.Scheduling and coordinating material deliveries and material requirements.Overseeing all aspects of quality control.Perform MOD surveys as needed.Supervise and assistwith adjusting as needed.Reviewing material tracking log and attending company progress and safety meetings weekly.


    Qualifications

    8+ years of progressive experience in the elevator industry with project management background.2+ years of proven supervisory/leadership experience.Valid elevator mechanic license (local/state) CET, NEIEP, or equivalent.Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI) certification or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.Strong computer proficiency (MS Office, internet).Self-motivated, with excellent communication and organizational skills.Must pass background checks and drug screenings to gain clearance for government sites.
